College is better by the lake! The combined community of Warsaw and Winona Lake is one of Indiana’s treasures. We are somewhat of an anomaly: small lakeside town meets Fortune 500 companies. At Grace, you can learn, work, and play in a safe and beautiful setting. Read on to learn about the wonderful experiences our community has to offer.
Whether you like mountain, road, or paved path biking, we have it all accessible right here from campus! Across the road from campus is nearly 10 miles of single-track mountain bike/running trails. If you prefer a leisurely bike ride, start your trek on the 5.5+ miles of greenway paths which directly connect our campus to the community. Finally, there are 180 miles of marked road bikeways throughout our county.
The Grace College campus is just a short walk from Winona Lake where students enjoy a wide variety of water activities: water skiing, tubing, paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing, and more!
Warsaw and Winona Lake have wide variety of restaurants, cafes, and ice cream shops! A number of our favorites are located just down the hill at the Village at Winona.
The Winona Lake / Warsaw community offers many places to stay when visiting. The list below includes area hotels that we recommend to our visitors.
For those of you who like shopping, Warsaw and Winona Lake have something for everyone. The Village at Winona has local shops that sell handmade jewelry, pottery, greeting cards, specialty soaps, and house plants.
On top of the full list of competitions our Lancer athletes are competing in, our community hosts an Optimist Triathlon, the Ultimate Challenger Race, and a Lake City Skiers Water Ski Show.
The Mount Memorial Art Gallery at Grace has a rotating display of fine art that guests can enjoy free of charge. Grace’s Theatre Arts Program puts on productions throughout the school year. Warsaw is also home to the Wagon Wheel Theater, which brings Broadway-quality shows to town throughout the summer.
We like to say Winona Lake is a “Hallmark town,” and our events calendar legitimizes the claim. Every year we host festivals such as the Village Art Fair, the Fat & Skinny Tire Fest, the Village Jazz Festival, Touch-a-Truck, Canal Days, and a Tree Lighting Ceremony at Christmastime.
For history buffs, the town of Winona Lake has a storied history. Originally a Christian retreat destination, Winona Lake welcomed crowds of 250,000, which came to hear nationally known evangelists like Billy Graham and Billy Sunday, whose home is pictured to the left. Visit the Winona History Center at Grace to learn more.
Our county is home to 100+ lakes and streams. Webster Lake, Lake Tippecanoe, James Lake, and the Barbee Chain of Lakes have world-class muskie fishing. The Lilly Center for Lakes & Streams at Grace College helps make this possible by keeping the lakes in Kosciusko County clean, healthy, safe and beautiful through research, education, and collaboration.
Our community has several golf courses: Stonehenge Golf Club, Rozella Ford Golf Course, and Raccoon Run Golf Course.
