Our goal is to offer services at little to no cost while providing an unparalleled experience for teacher candidates. This program wouldn’t be possible without the support of individuals and businesses in our community. By becoming a Pathway Partner, you can help light the way to literacy.
We invite you to become a Literacy Luminary with an annual gift of $75 or more. Your support honors our teacher candidates and ensures they are equipped to teach every child how to read.
We enable our teacher candidates to engage in literacy coursework aligned with evidence-based practices while providing avenues for faculty and staff to participate in continuous professional development.
Jefferson Elementary, an elementary school adjacent to our campus, serves as a training ground for teacher candidates, where they practice evidence-based strategies aligned with the science of reading frameworks.
We have a tutoring center on the Grace campus devoted to enhancing reading skills within the community. Teacher candidates can improve their skills and serve local children while volunteering at the center.

“The science of reading is a vast, interdisciplinary body of scientifically-based research about reading and issues related to reading and writing. This research has been conducted over the last five decades across the world, and it is derived from thousands of studies conducted in multiple languages. The science of reading has culminated in a preponderance of evidence to inform how proficient reading and writing develop; why some have difficulty; and how we can most effectively assess and teach and, therefore, improve student outcomes through prevention of and intervention for reading difficulties.”
