If you’re searching for Christian colleges with sports management programs, you’ve found the right place at Grace. Our sport management degree — with a communication and media arts concentration — will prepare you to tell the stories of the games, teams, and athletes that bring communities together. By pursuing a career in sport management with a focus on media arts and communication, you will shape how fans, athletes, and organizations connect with the sports they love.
For our School of Business, sport management is not just a career about wins and losses. It requires placing God’s Word at the center of your life. We believe serving Christ and His people with integrity through sport glorifies God.
As a sports management major, you’ll start with your core business classes, which are lecture-based and include interactive activities. As you gradually begin taking upper-level courses, you can expect discussion-based classes with group projects and hands-on media production work.
You’ll take courses such as Introduction to Sport Management, Marketing Principles, Foundations of Business, and Principles of Management for your core classes. Your concentration will determine your specialized courses. With the communication and media arts concentration, you’ll dive into courses like Introduction to Journalistic Writing, Public Relations Principles, Social Media Communication, Visual Communication Design, Typography, Fundamentals of Video Production, Intro to Digital Photography, and Digital & Internet Marketing — building the skills to create compelling content across every media platform in sports.
At Grace College, we believe in providing students with internships to create well-trained, critical thinkers. For our sport management major, you may work in athletic departments, youth and adult leagues, or media and communications offices. You may even find a position in the sports department at Grace College!
When you graduate with a degree in sport management and a communication and media arts concentration, you’ll be prepared to enter careers such as sports journalism, public relations, social media management, digital marketing, and video production. Grace’s graduates have pursued careers in strategic communications, sports broadcasting, and numerous other pathways.
