And, action! As a theatre arts minor at Grace College, you’ll dive into the world of theatre production and performance.
Our theatre arts minor is founded on the truth that God is the Creator and Designer of all things. We reflect His creative power when we design stage productions, from lights to costumes, sets, scripts, and choreography. In this way, every theater production reflects something about God’s nature.
You can expect hands-on classes in which you’ll perform, script, and direct. In your courses, you’ll learn the fundamentals of theater, including stagecraft, acting, directing, religious drama, and production.
The education doesn’t stop when you leave the classroom. Each year, Grace produces a play and a musical. Take the stage as a performer, or work behind the scenes as a set designer or stagehand! You may also perform in Grace’s student cabaret performances.
If you like the sound of performing on a team, consider Back in Five, Grace’s comedy-improv team. To couple your acting with ministry, check out Remnant, a student-led drama ministry team that performs at schools, churches, and youth events.
When you graduate with a minor in theatre arts, you’ll be equipped to organize, lead, and work with others in any setting, not just the stage. Theatre minor graduates have gone on to work in national tours, other theatre venues, and schools.
