Additional Program Details

What is a master’s degree in business administration?

A Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a graduate-level degree focused on business and management. It aims to provide advanced knowledge and skills in finance, marketing, operations, leadership, and strategy. An MBA is typically pursued by individuals who have earned a bachelor’s degree and want to move into management roles or broaden their business expertise.

What is an MBA in Orthopedics?

An MBA in Orthopedics is a specialized MBA that combines the core business/management curriculum of an MBA with a focus on the orthopedic industry. The Orthopedic MBA is designed for those who want to enter the orthopedics industry or are currently in orthopedics and seeking a more specialized education. So it’s not purely clinical; it emphasizes the business side of orthopedics (manufacturing, product, operations, distribution, etc) rather than being a clinical medical program.

Is the program more focused on clinical orthopedics or business/management?

It is much more focused on business and management in the orthopedic industry than on clinical patient care. The emphasis is on sharpening your business acumen, gaining practical skills in orthopedics (industry setting), and working in paid Fellowship rotations with orthopedic companies.

Is this program offered online, on-campus, or in a hybrid format?

You’ll complete the program in a hybrid format. Coursework is online, with in-person components. For example, you will attend an “Orthopedic Scholar Institute” each Friday afternoon in person.

How long does it take to complete the degree?

You can complete the degree in one year. The program is 39 credit hours, and it is structured as a one-year program.
