Grace College is excited to introduce a Nutrition and Exercise Science program, designed for students that are passionate about the intersection of movement and nutrition. This concentration equips students with the foundational knowledge and practical skills needed to pursue graduate studies or earn a nutrition coaching certification. With nutrition playing an increasingly vital role in health and performance, this program ensures students are prepared to meet the growing demand for evidence-based nutrition guidance. By integrating coursework in exercise science and nutrition, we are providing a pathway for students to study this critical field while aligning with Grace College’s commitment to holistic wellbeing.
At Grace College, the exercise science program is founded on the truth that God designed the human body for movement and activity. In our study, we honor the Creator and steward the body God has given us to use, move, and manage during this lifetime.
The program’s foundational courses provide an overview of the exercise science field, featuring classes such as Nutrition Assessment, Life Cycles of Nutrition and Nutrition for Sport. A nutrition concentration provides the best of both worlds, pairing foundational science like biology and chemistry with modern nutritional strategies for health and wellness. Three of the classes will be offered online through RIZE.
At Grace, we stress experiential learning. That’s why you’ll experience engaging and hands-on courses that include lab components and interactive experiences. By the end of the program, you’ll have experienced interactive assessments through engaging internships preparing you for your future clients or patients.
A distinguishing characteristic of Grace’s exercise science program is that each student is required to complete field learning. You may intern at a hospital or wellness center in your hometown, or you may work at Grace’s very own Center for Movement and Wellbeing, a center dedicated to fostering the movement, health, and wellbeing of Kosciusko County through research, education, and collaboration.
Upon graduating with an exercise science nutrition degree, you’ll have a variety of options. You may enter graduate training for fields such as clinical nutritionist, dietetics, occupational therapy, or chiropractic medicine. Or you might work in professions such as nutrition coach, sports nutritionist, health education, or any career that calls for an understanding of the human body’s nutrition.
