As an educational ministries major at Grace College, you’ll be equipped to walk alongside others in their journey of spiritual formation and growth in relationship with God.
In our educational ministry program, we believe we are called to serve humbly on mission, recognizing God’s redemptive work in the world. Our ministry is most fruitful when we recognize that the Bible has answers for the messiness of life and that it points us to the One who can help us find meaning and purpose for each day. We are most effective when we create a safe place for people to voice their questions and doubts to have an authentic faith.
As an educational ministries major, you’ll take foundational biblical studies courses, specialized ministry classes, and electives. Your foundational biblical studies courses will equip you with a theologically robust knowledge of the Bible, spiritual formation, and its application to our lives today.
You’ll also take specialized ministry courses as you grow in practical skills to reach and teach others with the fullness of the Gospel message. You’ll dive into areas such as biblical psychology, interpersonal ministry skills, and leadership. And whether you’re interested in more biblical study, behavioral science, intercultural studies, communications, philosophy, or educational training, your electives will allow you to explore your interests and passions.
You can expect reading-driven, discussion-based classes, where you’ll reflect with your peers on applying ministry concepts to actual practice. You’ll also engage in experiential learning activities, where you’ll interact with relevant topics that you can apply to your current and future ministry contexts.
Beyond the classroom, you’ll gain educational ministry experience through an internship of your choosing. Many educational ministries majors find internships on campus, in the local church, or at summer camps.
When you graduate, you’ll be equipped to help others grow in their relationship with God. Some areas where you may work include family ministry, church discipleship, college outreach, camp ministry, nonprofit work, or with any organization that requires the ability to lead others biblically, humbly, and graciously.
