What is liberal arts?

A liberal arts education is a broad-based form of higher learning that emphasizes critical thinking, clear communication, and the exploration of many subjects within the liberal arts degree. It is designed to sharpen your critical-thinking skills, expand your understanding of the world, and prepare you for the next level of academic and professional success.

What can you do with a liberal arts degree?

An associate degree can open the door to new opportunities personally, professionally, and academically. Many students use it as a foundation for a bachelor’s degree, while others use it to gain essential skills for the workplace or grow in their Christian faith and purpose. You’ll leave equipped to think critically, communicate effectively, and live with biblical integrity wherever God calls you.

What jobs can I get with a liberal arts degree?

Because a liberal arts education emphasizes transferable skills (writing, critical thinking, analysis, communication, etc.), graduates can pursue many roles rather than one predetermined job path. Some examples include: roles in education, communication, customer relations, nonprofit service, and business support functions.

How long does it take to get a liberal arts degree?

Most students complete the Associate of Liberal Arts in about two years, depending on transfer credits and course load. You’ll take two classes at a time in convenient 8-week sessions, so you can stay focused and make steady progress.

Is an online associate degree respected by employers?

Yes! Grace College is regionally accredited, which means your degree holds the same academic credibility as one earned on campus. Employers recognize the commitment, time management, and motivation it takes to complete an online degree, especially while balancing life and responsibilities.

How many credit hours is the associate degree?

There are 20 required courses for a total of 60 credit hours.

When can I start the Associate Degree program at Grace College?

Students can start the Associate Degree program at the start of any session that Grace offers. This includes Fall A (August), Fall B (October), Spring A (January), Spring B (March), and Summer (May) sessions.

How much does it cost to earn my associate degree online?

Grace College offers competitive tuition rates and financial aid options for qualified students. We believe cost should never be a barrier to pursuing God’s plan for your life. Our admissions team will help you explore options that make your education attainable. The current cost for the Associate of Liberal Arts program is $19,200.

Does Grace College accept Financial Aid?

Yes, students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA form. Just log on to www.studentaid.gov. Remember to include Grace College’s school code: 001800. Students are notified of their financial aid award money once they have been accepted into the program.

Can I transfer credits into or out of Grace College?

Absolutely. Grace accepts transfer credits from accredited colleges, dual enrollment programs, and some prior learning experiences. And if you decide to continue your education later, your Grace associate degree transfers smoothly into one of our online bachelor’s degree completion programs.

What makes Grace College different from other online programs?

Every course is taught from a biblical worldview, and professors genuinely care about your growth in Christ. You’ll learn to integrate faith and leadership in whatever field you pursue.

Yes! Courses are fully online and asynchronous, meaning you can complete weekly assignments at the times that work best for you. Whether you’re working full-time, raising a family, or serving in ministry, Grace’s online structure is designed to fit your life, not disrupt it.

Do I need to visit campus?

While it’s not required, you’re always welcome! Many online students choose to walk at graduation or visit our beautiful campus in Winona Lake, Indiana. You’ll also have the opportunity to connect virtually with your classmates, professors, and advisors.

What kind of support will I receive as an online student?

You won’t go it alone. From your first inquiry to graduation day, our Online Admissions, Student Services, and Academic Advising teams walk alongside you. You’ll also find professors who pray for their students and classmates who encourage you along the way.

How much interaction will I have with my instructors and classmates?

The online instructors here at Grace welcome and encourage a high degree of engagement and interaction. There will be an opportunity to interact with your instructors and classmates through chat, email, discussion boards, and forums.

What type of technology will I need to participate in an online degree program?

Students need a reliable computer or laptop, stable internet access, and basic word-processing software. All classes are delivered through Grace’s online learning platform, which is simple to use and mobile-friendly. Some courses may have additional requirements; however, Grace’s online technology support is always available for technical questions.
