Family & Sibs Weekend

We look forward to welcoming you on campus September 18-20th for Grace College Family & Sibs Weekend! Parents, grandparents, and siblings are invited to campus to enjoy special events and activities and, most importantly, to spend the weekend with your student!


Family & Sibs Weekend Schedule

9:00am – 8:00pm          Check-in and Registration
Welcome Center, Westminster Hall (Map #1)
Check in and receive your registration packet and wristband for the events. Note: new location!

9:00am – 10:30am        Coffee
Hospitality Suite, MOCC (Map #23)
Connect with other families, members of the Parent Council and staff members over some coffee and light refreshments.

10:30am – 11:20am      Family Weekend Chapel
MOCC (Map #23)
Bring the entire family and join us in celebration and praise as we enjoy chapel together. President Drew Flamm will be sharing.

11am – 1:15pm Lunch
Alpha Dining Commons (Map #20) or Westy Grille (Map #1)
Enjoy a meal on campus (using student scans or pay per meal $9.79/person – debit/credit only) or try any one of the great local restaurants!

1:00 – 3:00pm Siblings Attend a Class (Optional)
Join your siblings for one of their classes. Due to space constraints, we ask only one sibling (age 12+) visits with your Grace student.

1:00 – 2:30pm Campus Tour

Optional – High School Students and Parents
Any prospective student who attends this meeting and tours campus will receive a FREE Grace t-shirt.

2:00-3:30pm Res Hall Crawl
Various Residence Halls
Want to explore various dorms on campus as a family? Go to Beta, Kent, Omega, and Alpha to meet hall leadership, eat treats, and participate in an activity! Each location will feature a different snack or treat to taste! See the Res Hall Crawl map for more details.

2:00-4:40pm (tour offered every 20 minutes) Guided Tour of the Lilly Center for Lakes & Streams
Dr. Dane A. Miller Science Complex (Map #19)
Learn more about our local lakes and streams in Kosciusko County. Create your own watershed in an augmented-reality sandbox, color a bass or perch to see it swim in a virtual aquarium, or visit some of our live turtles, fish, salamanders, and frogs that live in our area! Spots are limited – sign up in advance at check-in and then meet inside the front door of the Science Complex at your designated time. Last tour offered will be at 4:20pm.

4:00-6:00pm    Disc Golf Tournament
Meet in front of Indiana Hall
Take your best shot at our Family Disc Golf Tournament! Gather your crew, hit the course, and enjoy an afternoon of healthy competition as you walk through Grace campus. Hosted by Grace Intramural Program (GIP)

2:45-5:00pm    Adventure Race
Meet at McClain Auditorium
Grab your adventurous family members and join Grace Outdoors for an Amazing Race-style challenge where your team will navigate to find hidden checkpoints across campus and Winona Lake. Along the way, participants will face both physical and mental challenges that test teamwork, problem-solving, and grit. Awards will be given at the end!

Come and enjoy BBQ dinner together at our campus dining commons. Complimentary Dinner provided with Family/Sibs Weekend Registration (wristbands will be available at check-in/registration and required at Alpha).

5:00pm – 8:00pm Taste of Kosciusko
100 W Center St, Warsaw, IN
Join the locals for the Annual Taste of Kosciusko event in Downtown Warsaw. Purchase food tickets for
$2 per ticket and exchange them for food at various local vendors. Come and taste food from all across Kosciusko County! **this event is not hosted by Grace College

7:00pm-8:00pm  Evening Concert: Hudson & The Fresh Bears
Indiana Tent
Bring the whole family and join us under the Indy Tent for an evening of live music provided by Hudson and the Fresh Bears

8:00-10:00pm Family Game Night

Come and enjoy some snacks, grab a board or card game (provided), enjoy some family time together, and make some new friends! Hosted by Together We Belong (TWB).

8:00-1:00pm Winona Lake Farmers Market
Miller Sunset Pavillion (705 Park Ave, Winona Lake)
Take a walk down to the Miller Sunset Pavillion in Winona Lake to partake in a local favorite! The Farmer’s market has vendors with fresh veggies, global cuisine, tasty treats, beautiful florals, and some of the best coffee in town!

9:00-10:15 am President/Parent Prayer Breakfast
Alpha Dining Commons (Map #20)
Complimentary breakfast provided with Family Weekend Registration (wristbands will be available at check-in/registration and required at Alpha). Enjoy brunch together with other parents, members of the Parent Council and Grace staff. Dr. Flamm and others will share some campus updates and lead us in times of prayer. Please arrive by 9:15am for breakfast and seating. The program begins at 9:30am.

9am-11am Open Fishing
Lancer Lofts Pond
Come and fish at the pond between Mt. Memorial and Lancer Lofts. Fishing rods, bait, tackle, etc. will be supplied. No fishing license required. Hosted by Lilly Center for Lakes & Streams.

10:30am-12:30pm  Outdoor Pickleball
Courts at Winona Lake Park
Grab your paddles and bring the whole family for some fun-filled Pickleball! Whether you’re a seasoned player or trying the game for the first time, enjoy friendly competition, laughter, and quality time together on the court. Hosted by GIP (Grace Intramural Program).

10:45 – 12:30pm Campus Tour

1:00pm & 3:00pm Bike Trail Tour
Meet in front of McClain (parking lot side)
Guided casual bike tour on the paved trails in Winona Lake. Bring your own bike or one will be provided for you by Grace Outdoors (based upon availability). Ages 13 and above. Spots are limited, see sign up at check-in/registration. Meet by McClain Hall, look for the Grace Outdoors trailer.

3:00pm            Women’s Volleyball Game

Grace College vs. Mt. Vernon Nazarene
Join RedZone and bring the entire family to cheer on the Lancers! The first 100 students/families will get a special Lancer Spirit item!

6:00pm- 8:00pm           Family Face-Off Night
McClain Auditorium
Gather your family and join us for an evening of laughter, friendly competition, and fun! Teams will compete together through several challenges prepared for you by our Residence Life team. Whetheryou’re competing for bragging rights or simply enjoying time together, this event is sure to create lasting memories for all ages.

Join the Student Activities Board (SAB) and enjoy Toy Story 5. Movie snacks provided.

Visit the Art Exhibit
Art Gallery in Mount Memorial Hall (Map #7)
Open Friday 8am-5pm, Saturday 10am-4pm, and Sunday 12-4pm. Enjoy our new exhibit with artwork by Grace’s Assistant Professor of Visual Communication, Professor Aaron Winey.

Visit the Winona History Center
Westminster Hall (Map #1)
Open Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday 2pm-5pm. Featuring a touchscreen exhibit on the history of Grace College.

Disc Golf or Pickleball Open-Play
Borrow discs or paddles at the GHAWC front desk and enjoy the fall weather with some family competition. Disc Golf Course is located on Grace campus. Pickleball courts are located at Winona Lake Park. (see disc golf tournament & outdoor pickleball on the schedule)

GHAWC Open Gym
GHAWC will be open for pickleball, volleyball and basketball (families sign waiver at front desk).

Walk the Winona Lake trails
Enjoy 10 miles of scenic trails situated on 153 acres around Winona Lake.

Enjoy some coffee at the WL Cafe
Winona Lake Grace Church
Open Friday 7am-5pm, Saturday 8am-3pm, and Sunday during morning services 8am-12pm Come and enjoy some fresh coffee to get your day started off right. Parents will receive a coupon for buy one get one free coffee.

Children 5-13 years old – be sure to grab a scavenger hunt card at registration and find the specified locations on campus. Turn in your game sheet in Alpha Dining (Friday 5:00-6:30p) or at the Family Movie night on Saturday (8p) and get a prize!

 

Friday night’s dinner and Saturday morning’s prayer breakfast are complimentary with Family Weekend registration. Other meals can be purchased at Alpha/Westy using a credit/debit card.
