This program is designed for students who want to teach Spanish for proficiency in grades K-12. With on-campus courses focusing on acquiring linguistic and cultural skills and a required Study-Abroad, you will master the Spanish language, developing competency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in authentic cultural settings. Students also take education courses in planning, instruction, management, and professionalism, and pursue applied learning experiences. You will spend time at a Spanish or Argentine institution abroad, encountering Spanish-speaking cultures first-hand. Spanish and Spanish education majors will develop a dynamic Christian worldview as they encounter differing cultural values and beliefs, and learn to live intentionally as a global citizen. This training, along with a strong core of professional education courses and the experience of student teaching, will become the basis for an excellent teaching career in Spanish.
