Whether you have previously studied Spanish or are a beginner, the Grace College Spanish Major can help you expand your linguistic and cultural horizons while giving you an advantage in virtually any career. With over 41 million native speakers in the United States and 480 million native speakers in the world, Spanish is rapidly becoming an essential language for business, healthcare, education, politics and diplomacy, missions, and nonprofit work. Our Spanish program focuses on proficiency by developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills within authentic cultural frameworks. Students are encouraged to participate in co-curricular opportunities such as Spanish Table and La Fiesta to gain additional language exposure. Through the Study Abroad program, advanced students enroll in upper-level Spanish language and civilization courses at one of Grace College’s member institutions in Argentina or Spain, or through other approved programs such as BestSemester.
