Grace College’s Latest Club Sport is off the Hook!

The new bass fishing club will enable Grace students to enjoy fishing together on the many lakes in our county, and beyond!

Have you heard about the latest club sport at Grace College?

Did you know? We have over 100 lakes and streams in Kosciusko County. The new bass fishing club will enable Grace students to enjoy fishing together on the many lakes in our county, and beyond! Our very own Tim Ziebarth, executive dean of the School of Professional and Online Education, is leading the club.

“I cannot wait to get the boat out onto the water to commence the first Grace College bass fishing season! I anticipate this group having a lot of fun together on the water,” said Ziebarth.

And as far as how long the season lasts–well, that’s still up for negotiation! “You can fish all year long in the South, so depending on the tournaments we participate in, we might have a year-long season,” stated Ziebarth.

So what about this boat?

Bass Cat Boats in Mountain Home, Arkansas partnered with Grace on a 20’ Caracal. The Caracal name is a throwback to the 17-foot hot rod boat that dominated performance on the 1990’s Top 100 Tour. The heritage of the name is preserved in this longer, wide-bodied hull, drawing a new base to the Bass Cat name.

This boat has it all! Innovative features include the net scabbard in the port deck, tool rail and ruler slot, tandem (2) aft storages, off-center rod storage, and even a rod locker for your fishing partner! True to the 1990’s Caracal II model, the day-use box is in the front of the boat.

The rear deck accommodates massive triangular live wells and a large starboard storage box. Power Pole pump access can be exposed under the removable port storage box tray. And did we mention that stainless cup holders for the team are placed throughout the boat? #Winning!

Are there any boat nerds out there?
