Grace College Welcomes Back Actors From The London Stage

Grace College’s Department of English, Literature & Languages is pleased to announce the return of Actors From The London Stage (AFTLS) to the Grace College campus this fall. AFTLS’s visit will include a week-long residency and three open-to-the-public performances of William Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” on Oct. 9, 10 and 11 at 7 p.m. Performances will take place in Grace College’s Little Theatre, located in Philathea Hall, 905 Connection Circle, Winona Lake. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $12 with a Grace ID. They can be purchased at www.eventbrite.com/o/grace-c-dept-of-english-literature-languages-14755656595.

“I have attended two shows featuring the Actors From The London Stage in my time here at Grace, and both times they exceeded my expectations,” said Kymberly Oliver, a current Grace student. “I enjoyed when the actors sat in classes and invited students to participate in workshops to gain creative insight into their acting methods. Every actor is extremely talented, and as an English major, their performances have helped bridge the gap between modern literature and Shakespearean literature. I am beyond excited to see ‘The Tempest’ in October!”

AFTLS is one of the oldest established touring Shakespeare companies in the world. Their Fall 2025 tour includes the University of Notre Dame, the University of Texas and the University of North Alabama.

The 2025 tour and residency features three returning actors from the Spring 2024 tour: Michael Wagg, Sam Hill and Anna Crichlow. These actors left lasting impressions due to their theatrical performances in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and engaging work with students in the classroom.

In addition to dynamic performances, AFTLS will conduct a week-long residency program at Grace. Throughout the week, the actors will lead several dozen interdisciplinary class visits, workshops and demonstrations at Grace College and in local high schools in the community.

This residency is sponsored by the Grace College Department of English, Literature & Languages with generous support from the Elener R. (Norris) Grossman Fund and Janet Vesa.
