Grace College Outdoors and Boundless Ministries will host the sixth annual “Glow Float” on Saturday, August 9, from 8-10 p.m. at Winona Lake Limitless Park and Splash Pad, 1598 Park Avenue, Winona Lake. The event allows the community to deck out their paddleboards, kayaks and canoes with lights and paddle Winona Lake at dusk with friends and family. Tickets can be acquired at shorturl.at/HMNg2 by donating to a local family in need.
“We are so excited to host this event once again,” said Matt Metzger, director of Grace Outdoors. “Two of the things I love most about this community we call home are the natural beauty of the lakes and the way we all rally together to love our neighbors. This event combines the best of both with countless volunteers who make this possible. Your donations, big and small, will play a vital role in encouraging a family in our community!”
Toward the end of the paddle around the perimeter of Winona Lake, there will be an opportunity to swim before the group is led back to the beach at Limitless Park, where a fire and s’mores await. At this time, Metzger will draw names to win several $100 & $50 Amazon gift cards provided by The Kosciusko Coalition on Drug Education (K-CODE).
“The Glow Float is a wonderful event that allows you to explore the wonders of Winona Lake at night,” said Amy Clark, a Warsaw resident who won the grand prize drawing at the Glow Float 2024. “It’s a great way to spend time with friends and family while getting the opportunity to meet other members of the community. It’s fun to see the creative ways people decorate to light up the night. I’m looking forward to participating Saturday night!”
Grace Outdoors is an extracurricular club for Grace College students and local community members, encouraging them to enjoy God’s creation through a variety of outdoor recreational activities. The club partners with Boundless Ministries, which serves those struggling with addiction by inviting Boundless participants to join the adventures. These recreational activities create an environment conducive to healing, personal development, and long-term recovery.
