College should be fun, but ultimately, college is a time to learn and study. Therefore, it’s important to find a good place to study that fits your study needs and preferences. Grace has a variety of study spots to choose from! Whether you need complete silence or you want to study with friends, you can find a study spot to suit your needs without straying far from campus. These are some of the best places to study on campus and in the community.

Morgan Library

For most college students, libraries are their go-to study spot. The Morgan Library at Grace College has a variety of study options, each with its own vibe. The main level and basement are great for studying with friends or studying by yourself. You can also check out a study room to work on group projects. Or if you need a quiet space to crank out some homework by yourself, study on the top floor of the library. Word to the wise: Be careful not to fall asleep in the comfy chairs!

Light Rail Cafe

If the cafe vibe is more your style, study at Light Rail, located a short walk from campus. Light Rail offers a variety of coffee drinks, pastries, breakfast and brunch foods, and pizzas. They even accept your flex dollars! The close proximity to Grace makes Light Rail one of the best places to study off campus. Students love to go to Light Rail to do homework, hang out with friends, and enjoy some delicious food.

Social Ice Cream and Sandwich Shop

Also a short walk from campus, Social provides a quaint ice cream shop atmosphere. They serve ice cream, soups, salads, and hot and cold sandwiches, all made from scratch. You can use your flex dollars here as well! Study inside to enjoy the cute decor or study outside to have a view of the Village at Winona.

Science Center

The Science Center has a wide variety of study spots! If you need a place to write out math problems or sketch out your next design idea, take advantage of the Science Center’s study rooms and classrooms, many of which are stocked with whiteboards or whiteboard tables. If you want to study without missing out on what’s happening around campus, study on the third floor of the center, which has several chairs by large windows that look out over campus. Students who want to be in-the-know love this spot to keep tabs on campus life while studying.

Martin’s

Are you craving sushi? Martin’s offers both ready-to-go and customizable sushi. At Martin’s, you can get sushi and then do your homework at their tables. Or if you want Starbucks or need groceries, Martin’s also has you covered! Check out the Starbucks inside the store or shop at Martin’s and bring your homework with you. It’s a great way to get some food, be productive, and venture off campus.

Campus Starbucks (aka Jazzbucks)

If you are craving your favorite Starbucks drink but don’t want to go off campus, one of the best places to study is Jazzbucks. You can grab your favorite Starbucks drink (take advantage of your flex dollars) and then do homework with friends or by yourself. During warm, sunny days, you can take your coffee outside and enjoy studying at the tables beside Jazzbucks. This is a great way to get some much-needed vitamin D without neglecting your homework.

Pergola

The pergola by McClain is another great outdoor study spot! The pergola is complete with tables, chairs, and lights, so you can study there during the day or at night. You can do homework in the sun and say hi to friends as they walk by during the day or crank out an assignment you procrastinated on at night. During the winter months, some of these tables are placed in a heated igloo, so you can still enjoy studying under the pergola even when it’s cold outside.

William Male Center

If you’re a major introvert and want to study outside in a less popular spot, study at the tables by the William Male Center. This spot will provide you with a peaceful, quiet study atmosphere surrounded by beautiful landscaping.
