Additional Program Details

A ministry leadership degree is a program that develops an individual’s ability to lead in ministry-oriented organizations. This program is a great fit for those who are currently serving or seeking to serve in ministry: pastors, youth leaders, worship directors, or lay leaders who want formal training and a biblical foundation.

Graduates serve as pastors, ministry directors, missionaries, nonprofit leaders, and church administrators, among a variety of other career fields.

The ministry leadership program can be completed in as little as two years! This is a degree-completion program designed for students with previous coursework or an associate degree. There are 20 required courses, for a total of 60 credit hours. In combination with a student’s prior credits, the complete bachelor’s degree is 120 credit hours.

Students need to have 60 credit hours of prior college credit completed to begin the program. (If students do not have 60 prior credit hours, there are a few options for earning this credit, including 24 credit hours that may be earned through experiential learning. For more information about transfer credits, please contact onlineadmissions@grace.edu.)

Courses are offered in 8-week terms. Students will take two classes during each eight-week session for steady progress and balance with ministry life.

In this program, you will build a strong biblical foundation, engage in leadership skills rooted in Scripture, and learn to lead like Christ through humility, love, and accountability. Courses emphasize servant leadership, spiritual formation, and the responsibility of representing God in all areas of influence.

The degree balances both: it is taught from a biblical worldview (theological foundation) and also emphasizes practical leadership skills applied in ministry contexts: servant leadership, spiritual formation, leadership responsibilities, and real-world ministry roles are all part of it.

Yes! The program is explicitly designed to prepare students for roles in ministry and church leadership, such as pastor, children’s ministry director, missionary, or outreach coordinator.

Yes. While the program is ministry-focused, the leadership and biblical foundation it provides are well-suited for work in missions, nonprofit organizations, community outreach, and other servant-leadership contexts.

By equipping you with both the theological understanding and leadership skills needed in ministry settings, and preparing you for roles with real ministry responsibilities (pastor, missionary, outreach, etc.), this degree readies you for full-time ministry. The program’s emphasis on servant leadership, spiritual formation, and representing God in influence supports that preparation.

The ministry leadership program is an undergraduate degree focused on practical leadership and ministry application, not ordination-level theology.

Yes! Grace College is regionally accredited, and your degree carries full academic and professional credibility.

Yes! The flexible online format allows you to continue serving while studying at your own pace.
