Cheryl Bremer, Ed.D.

What makes teaching at Grace College so incredibly special is the unique alignment of purpose, community, and faith. When people ask what I love most about my job, I always tell them it comes down to what I do, who I do it with, and where I do it. But most importantly, it is about how we integrate our faith into everything we teach and learn.

Our foundation begins with understanding who we are in Christ, which allows us to fully embrace the calling to love and teach students who are also beautifully made in His image. We look to Micah 6:8 as our guiding principle, believing that the path of a thriving, kingdom-building teacher begins with professional competence, a heart that serves, and a character that reflects Jesus—the perfect example of morality. Getting to play even a small role in my students journey means being part of something much bigger; as they graduate and step into their own classrooms, the faith and pedagogy we practice here multiplies, creating an exponential, Christ-centered impact on generations to come.

My teaching style is interactive and heavily focused on hands-on experience because I believe students learn best by actually doing. Instead of just lecturing you on theory, I actively model the exact strategies and methods you as a teacher will use in your own classroom, giving you a firsthand look at how effective teaching works. I structure our class time to keep you engaged, blending a mix of collaborative group discussions, interactive technology, and movement with focused lectures and guided notes. Ultimately, my goal is to transform our classroom into a creative, energetic space where you don’t just study education—you actively experience it.

Areas of Expertise: Curriculum design and instruction, special education policies and practices, instructional strategies, inclusion, collaboration, differentiation, universal design for learning.

Before I became a professor, I was able to combine my love for music and early childhood development by owning and operating a Kindermusik studio for 10 years. My husband and I are loving our new role of being grandparents. I’m most happy when I’m with my family, drinking coffee, or reading books!
