Grace College Presents ‘Lake Days’

Grace College is launching a new initiative this summer called ‘Lake Days.’ These free events invite local and regional community members to celebrate and enjoy the amenities that make Grace’s community in Winona Lake, Ind., unique. Attendees will enjoy boat rides, hourly prizes, local shopping, yard games, food and an evening of worship. Lake Days will take place on Saturday, July 18, and Saturday, August 15, from 1 – 8 p.m. at Winona Lake Limitless Park.

“We are so blessed to be located next to beautiful Winona Lake and The Village at Winona,” said Matt Metzger, chief marketing officer at Grace. “This event is an opportunity to extend the blessings God has given us to those around us – both near and far. So whether you’re a committed Grace Lancer wanting to visit Winona Lake in the summer, a Warsaw resident desiring a free boat ride on Winona Lake or a family from a neighboring town seeking a mini getaway, this is a great opportunity for you!”

Lake Days is a free, family-friendly experience, and includes hot dogs, chips and drinks for lunch. The event will host games of 9 square, gaga ball, sand volleyball and cornhole. Groups can also reserve 30-min boat rides on Winona Lake.

“The Grace College boat was a generous donation from Grace alumni at Splendor Boats,” said Troy Phillips, manager of Grace Solutions Marketing. “While we’re committed to sharing this generous gift with our community year-round, many don’t know about the opportunity. This is our way of getting the word out and giving back.”

The event garnered 100% participation from shops in the Village at Winona. When Lake Day attendees visit local shops, they will receive a custom shop sticker and a chance to win prizes with each purchase.

“Anytime The Village at Winona can partner on an event that draws people into our town, it’s a win for everyone,” said Nick Hauk, managing director for the Village at Winona. “This event is a perfect example of two local organizations coming together to create a great community experience. It will give participants an opportunity to enjoy 21 unique shops and restaurants in The Village at Winona that they might have never been to before.”

The fun-filled day will conclude with an evening of worship at the fire pit at 8:15 p.m.

“We want to finish the day singing praises to our Lord and Savior,” said Carleigh Blevins, a junior at Grace from North Manchester. “He gave it all and inspires us to give freely in return.”
