Ethan Bunce walked into a Grace College chapel service ready to argue. A missions speaker had just said the harvest was ready — that a flood of people were prepared to come to Christ. Ethan didn’t believe it. He’d grown up in churches that felt tired and quiet, where faith went through the motions and nobody was multiplying anything. So after the service, he confronted the speaker directly. The speaker’s answer was simple: give your life fully to this, clear away the distractions, focus on the gospel — and watch what happens. The next day, Ethan changed his major to biblical studies. That one conversation, in that one room, changed the course of his life.
Today Ethan is pastor of worship and mobilization at a growing church in Bellefontaine, Ohio, training the next generation of pastors and watching people enter the kingdom of God — the very harvest he once doubted. He still says it like it surprises him: “I’m not a good worship leader. I am just a person who said, God used me.” Grace College didn’t just teach Ethan what to believe — it put him in a room with someone who could meet his doubt with truth.
