Experiential Learning

Learning doesn’t only happen in the classroom with experiential learning.

At Grace College, we know that learning doesn’t happen solely in the classroom. A student graduating with both knowledge and real-world experience produces competent employees and happy employers. That’s why we have more than 240 partnerships with area businesses available to provide hands-on work in your career field.

Learn more about our Applied Experiential Learning program. Learning does not solely happen in the classroom at Grace College.

Preparing you for the path ahead.

Applied Learning (APL) is when the world-at-large becomes your classroom. APL gives you a preview of the day-to-day work in a given field. You might even learn that the spectrum of roles in your field is larger than you thought and refine your career goals!

Applied Learning does not require prior experience. It is an open invitation to discover, explore and even to have fun, but there is a lot at stake. These experiences expose you to potential internships and eventual employers. The business leaders you will meet are influential references who will be watching your aptitude, attitude and natural abilities.

Past students have participated in job shadowing experiences, part-time or summer jobs, applied research projects, cross-cultural field experiences, and community service projects. Their experiences have been local, national and even international.

All Grace students graduate with applied learning experience, as part of the 120 credits needed to graduate.
