Teaching at Grace is a joy because of the student learning that we get to facilitate and witness witness both inside and outside the classroom. In my small, upper-level French courses, you might find us analyzing a scene from a classic French film, cooking a Senegalese dish, or practicing writing psalms and songs in French, I also get to watch students putting language and culture learning into action outside the class, whether through our intermediate French students reading self-authored childrens’ books in French at the local elementary school, a French club field trip to a Belgian-owned “fromagerie,” or a Sunday morning at an African church service with the Global Living-Learning Community.
