Grace College will host its 36th annual FunFest on Friday, Oct. 30, from 6-8 p.m. in the newly renovated Gordon Health and Wellness Center, 100 Publishers Dr., Winona Lake. FunFest is a free, trick-or-treat-style event open to the public. This year’s event theme is circus. Families can bring their children to enjoy circus-themed games, craft-based activities, face painting, chicken nuggets, prizes and balloon animals.
“The FunFest tradition is loved by both Grace College students and the Warsaw community, making it an event people want to enjoy every year,” said Grace student Madilyn McCune. “FunFest creates such sweet memories for college students, who get the opportunity to serve alongside friends and classmates, as well as children in the community, who return each year to create lifelong memories with their families!”
McCune serves as the coordinator of the student organization & Action. The student-led ministry formerly called Serve coordinates FunFest each year.
“I am looking forward to seeing the fruit of my team’s labor,” said McCune. “We have been planning this event for the past month and a half, and I am so excited to see it all come together. This is one of &Action’s biggest events of the year, and I am so proud of my team and all the work we have put into it.”
The event has historically relied on 75 student volunteers who welcome nearly 500 attendees through the doors each year.
“I’m overjoyed to welcome families from our community to this year’s Funfest, a long-standing Halloween-style alternative for families in our neighborhood,” said Emily Brenneman, Director of Student Involvement. “Through this event, we hope that our community experiences the welcome of our Grace College campus and has a blast together as a family!”
