Workshop: Native Plant Propagation

Find a new way to garden!

The Lilly Center and Purdue Extension are hosting a native plant propagation workshop using flora taken from the Lilly Center landscaping! Participants will will learn why plants should be divided, how plant division improves overall plant health, and how this simple horticultural technique can be used to sustainably expand native plantings at home.

The workshop will include an overview of the native plants growing in the Lilly Center’s landscape and their ecological value. It is ideal for beginner to intermediate gardeners looking to build confidence, increase plant diversity, and support local ecosystems using practical, hands-on skills.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own shovels and gardening gloves as there will be a limited supply available. A light brunch will be provided, and each person will get to take home the plants they’ve collected. This is the perfect event for innovative gardeners looking to learn new techniques!

This event is underwritten by City of Warsaw Stormwater Utility, DePuy Synthes, and Zimmer Biomet Foundation.
