College can be a costly adventure. But we have good news for you! Just because education feels expensive doesn’t mean there aren’t options. What if we told you that you could graduate with 120 credits in three years (or less)?

1. Save Time

At Grace, you can earn 120 credits in three years, even if you do not have existing college credits! You can accelerate your degree through 8-week sessions, traditional 16-week classes, and even summer courses. Almost any major at Grace can be condensed into 3 years. 

A blended bachelor’s and master’s degree is another great option for Grace students. You can earn your bachelor’s and master’s in only four years, depending on your field of study. Learn more information and see if your major has an accelerated option.  

Don’t worry about missing out on campus life just because you’re accelerating your degree. You can still experience the excitement of dorm life, go to campus events, and join groups like intramurals! You’ll simply be balancing your coursework at the same time. 

2. Save Money

When you graduate early, you save money. It’s that simple! You can take a year off of your tuition bill by opting for the 3-year option. 

Grace doesn’t sacrifice quality or credit hours to graduate a year early; instead, our 8-week sessions allow you to earn credits faster while still receiving the same material and instruction you’ll get in our 4-year program. For example, many students take 3 classes at a time for 8 weeks instead of 5 classes at a time over 16 weeks. You can receive the same instruction at an accelerated rate, but you’ll take fewer classes at a time to keep the workload manageable.

Ellison’s Story

Ellison Miller, an exercise science major, knew she wanted to work in healthcare since early high school. She had earned college credits in high school through an Emergency Medical Responder course, where she received first-responder training. At first, she considered becoming a nurse, but quickly decided the job was not for her. Instead, she chose to pursue occupational therapy because of its holistic approach and broad application. She is now entering her third and final year at Grace.

Miller settled on Grace’s 3-year bachelor’s degree for several reasons, including the cost.

“The greatest benefit of the three-year degree was saving money,” said Miller. “Because I am completing my degree in three years, I will graduate debt-free.”

She also shared that the accelerated pace of Grace’s classes helped her develop time management skills. Despite the heavy homework load, Miller said that the hardest part about a three-year degree will be leaving her friends and the strong Christ-centered community. 

If you’re considering a three-year program, Miller encourages you to think about not only the savings but also the benefits of a small Christian college. 

“Grace has small classes with encouraging professors that take a personal interest in you and want to help you,” said Miller.

Miller is planning on attending graduate school to study occupational therapy after finishing her 3-year bachelor’s degree.

Emma’s Story

Sometimes graduating early isn’t as much about money as getting into the workforce sooner. Emma Close, a digital marketing graduate in 2026, also pursued the 3-year bachelor’s degree, and she now works as a social media and content strategist at 1Eighty Digital, a local marketing company.

Close chose the 3-year program because of its affordability and because she liked the idea of finding a job and starting work earlier. 

“I wanted to finish my degree quicker,” said Close. “I wanted to pay less over less time.” 

She graduated high school a semester early with several college credits, and then took online classes through a commuter school before coming to Grace in the fall of 2023. 

“I never took any summer classes at Grace,” Close mentioned. “I was able to just do the 3-year program with the normal amount of classes during a semester.”

The hardest part about her accelerated degree were the 8-week classes at Grace. While she appreciated earning credits more quickly, some subjects like accounting and Bible-centric courses were difficult, as she learned a whole new skill set in 8 weeks. 

“I had a shorter amount of time to get an internship and figure out my own opportunities,” said Close. “It was good to be a little uncomfortable and feel, ‘you’ve got to get this done.’” 

This timeframe also helped her gain experience more quickly, and she was still able to participate in campus events, attend athletic games, and spend quality time with her friends.

To students who want to earn a degree faster, Close offers this advice: “Three years goes by really fast. Actually sit and enjoy your classes, because before you know it, you’ll graduate.”
