School of Behavioral Sciences

The learning environments in the School of Behavioral Sciences are designed to foster better understanding of human behavior and the nature of society from a biblical worldview.

Course offerings provide broad exposure to experimental and clinical methods for studying persons; examination of the major theoretical concepts and research findings in the fields of psychology and sociology; exploration of the historical background and philosophical assumptions underlying the methods and theories of modern psychology, and how these relate to Christian belief; and experience in applying psychological knowledge to address significant human needs in the field setting.

All full-time faculty in the School of Behavioral Sciences are licensed and earned their living working in the field prior to teaching. Their combined experiences include a broad spectrum of settings including public schools, community mental health centers, juvenile centers, nursing facilities, church counseling centers, private practice, the military and law enforcement. Currently, they are actively involved in private practice, research, and providing training and workshops in the community.
