Beyer Trail Expedition

  • Saturday, August 8, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
  • Beyer Farm Trail in Warsaw
Research team member holds a zebra mussel sampler.

Get ready to get your hands dirty! Bring your family and join us at the Beyer Trail Expedition to learn about wetlands and how important they are for clean water. We’ll be talking about Warsaw’s water quality efforts, and sampling for macroinvertebrates (otherwise known as water bugs!) During the hike, Ryan Workman (MS4 coordinator with the City of Warsaw Stormwater Utility) will discuss the stormwater mitigation efforts on Beyer Trail, and the importance of wetlands for water quality. Chuck Harvuot (from Indiana Master Naturalist) will conclude the tour with a look at macroinvertebrates found in the wetland and what they say about the health of that environment.
