Grace College invites the public to join in two special events. Grace’s annual Day of Worship and Communitas will take place on Wednesday, April 10. “This year’s Day of Worship theme is creation care, and to complement that theme, most of our Communitas events will be held in Grace’s newly renovated and expanded Science Center–a building whose architecture and landscaping reflects our campus’s commitment to environmental sustainability,” said Dr. Lauren Rich, chair of the Department of Languages, Literature, and Communication.

Day of Worship will take place at 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. in the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center (MOCC), 610 Wooster Rd., Winona Lake. Douglas J. Moo, Blanchard professor of the New Testament at Wheaton College Graduate School, will be the keynote speaker. Moo is a notable author, including “An Introduction to the New Testament,” written with D.A. Carson and Leon Morris, and he is an expert in Pauline theology and environmental theology. After Moo, the public is invited to join in student-led prayer and worship.

Communitas will immediately follow Day of Worship and continute throughout the evening. Communitas is sponsored by the Grace College Office of Faith, Learning & Scholarship. The campus-wide, interdisciplinary event showcases student scholarship in all forms.

“Communitas 2019 will showcase Grace students’ scholarship on topics ranging from eosinophilic esophagitis to evangelism, and Moana to GMOs. In addition to research presentations, attendees can enjoy artists’ talks, poetry readings, and other events,” said Rich. The student presentations will take place from 1:30 – 5 p.m. In addition, the public is invited to return to campus for the 1-69 Business Plan Competition, which will take place at 8 p.m. in Room 106 of the MOCC.
