Accounting Endowment

Introduction 

At Grace College, we believe that God created us to do meaningful work that glorifies Him and meets the needs of others — and the School of Business is no exception. Within the school, the Accounting Program has led this charge, demonstrating its commitment to excellence and service, both in and out of the classroom. We are proud of the growing program and the 400+ accounting graduates who are making an impact around the world. In the last year alone, two of our accounting graduates were named “CFO of the Year” by the San Diego Business Journal.  

As the accounting major at Grace grows in notoriety and size, we recognize that now is the time to invest in the program in order to fulfill our mission and develop graduates who lead lives of purpose in the field of business and beyond. 

Why an Endowed Accounting Professorship? 

Since 2004, the accounting program has grown five times in size with a current enrollment of 60+ students. As the sole full-time accounting professor, Dr. Roger Stichter has faithfully built the accounting program into a regionally and even nationally recognized program. In 2019, the accounting program was recognized by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as the highest-ranking of all Indiana institutions for CPA pass rates in the “first-time, small program” category.  

The success of the program alone points to a need for a new faculty, but there are also new opportunities on the horizon that we want to capitalize on. We’ve considered means to allow our students to take the CPA while still in college. This will require additional courses and responsibilities for the program that will demand new personnel. 

The Endowed Accounting Professorship will provide support for the hiring of a second accounting professor within the School of Business. Investing in the accounting program will sustain our growth and success now, while also ensuring our excellence long into the future.
