Who Are We?
Who Are You?
What Is Our Calling?
These questions (and perhaps a few more) will be addressed in this introductory course required for all freshmen.
From the course prospectus:
Freshman Foundations (LAC 101) is a practical, academic course created to assist all first-year freshman students in transitioning and becoming integrated into life as a college student at Grace. This course will be instrumental in learning and understanding what it means to live an authentic, Christian life as a student at Grace College and in the days to come. Freedom to explore ideas, make choices, deepen relationships and to challenge and confirm beliefs are life-changing experiences. This course is designed to make the four-years at Grace the best experience possible. This course is designed to help you discover your God-given strengths, navigate through current college issues, introduce the student to the mission and expectations of the learning community at Grace College, better understand what makes Christian liberal arts education valuable, introduce students to the value of service in the local community and introduce the students to prospective departments and faculty within the institution. A primary component of this course is a small group discussion led by Faculty Mentors and Student Mentors where students are free to explore ideas with the guidance of the experienced staff and students at Grace.
