From Dean of the Chapel and Global Ministries, Scott Feather...
The chapel experience has been a highlight of my 17 years at Grace, first as a student, and now as an employee. God has a strange way of fulfilling the dreams He has placed in our hearts. As a young child, my dream was to do something that would impact the world. Now a quarter of a century later, I have that opportunity through my role here at Grace College.
A student’s experience in college lasts a short four years, and many wrongly call them the “best years of life.” Though college is an amazing time of development both mentally and spiritually, if I thought life goes “downhill” after college I would not invest my life intersecting with learners in that season of life. I see college, not as the pinnacle of students’ lives, but as a launching pad as they seek to live out their relationship with Christ. The Grace experience would be incomplete without chapel. It provides a chance for the Grace family to gather and experience Christ and His present work in the lives of frail humanity around the globe. Through chapel, students are encouraged to see past themselves to the greater story that God is writing.
Grace seeks to honor God through its work of higher education. Chapel is an environment deliberately set aside to complement the classroom and residence hall experiences in awakening, equipping, and connecting learner-leaders seeking to make visible the redeeming work of Christ.
