Bringing your own computer is recommended, but not a necessity. Grace provides public computers and printers in all freshman residence halls. There are also two larger public labs with printers, one with a few advanced features. If you choose to bring your own computer, you can print to any of the public printers. OIT offers the equivalent of 200 free pages of black and white printing per semester. Also, if you bring a desktop without wireless capabilities, you will need an ethernet cable. OIT sells different lengths of cables if you prefer to wait and see what your room looks like.

Grace offers network and internet access to all registered students and guests. Once you're on campus, plug in or connect to the wireless network called “Grace WiFi.” (The wireless network password is the Grace phone number, 5743725100). Once connected, open your browser and you'll be directed to our registration page.
You'll then need to use your Grace-provided username and password to register your computer. A quick scan of your computer is necessary to ensure all software is up to date. To connect a game console or mobile device, such as an iPhone or iPod touch, contact OIT and we'll help you through the process.

All residence halls have telephone and voicemail service in every room. A long-distance access code will be supplied upon arrival as an alternative to cell phones or calling cards. However, you do need to supply your own telephone.
Grace provides each student an email address, which all professors and staff will use to communicate important information. However, access to most other webmail accounts and IM programs is available including AIM, WindowsLive, Skype, Facebook and more.

OIT will make its best effort to help any students with personal computer problems not only related to connectivity but also hardware and some types of software. This service is diagnostic in nature and OIT does typically perform repair services.
OIT recommends that you bring all original software, source disks and warranty information with you as many times it is necessary for a successful problem resolution.
