The Writing Lab also offers online tutoring. Students can email papers along with the specific assignment description to firstname.lastname@example.org. A Writing Lab tutor will comment on the paper within 48 hours.
The Learning Center provides individual tutoring for students requesting assistance in a particular course. Students generally meet with their tutor for one hour each week for the entire semester, but this is not required and a one time appointment can be made upon student request. During that time, tutors review class notes, answer questions, give informal quizzes, and provide study tips. All tutoring services are paid for by The Learning Center.
Tutors can be accessed at any time. Log on to the portal and click the Campus Life tab; under the Learning Center there is a list of all the current tutors on staff. Just send an email to the one who is in your discipline and let them know of your specific need. From there you can set up a time that is convenient for you to meet.
The Learning Center provides free group study labs for a number of general education classes and some specialized courses. Labs meet either once a week for an hour and/or before major exams. These study labs are open to anyone in the class and are led by a student who has successfully completed the class. The tutor will review notes, answer any questions about course material, give practice tests and quizzes, and provide helpful study tips.
