RESPONSIBILITIES
Youth Ministry

1. Lead/administrate/resource and promote comprehensive vision of Youth Ministry through the Think Orange strategy (XP3 curriculum).
2. Oversee the recruitment and development of volunteer youth staff. Conduct regular planning meetings, including regular communications.
3. Maintain regular, effective lines of communication between the youth ministry to the youth and their families, as well as to the church overall.
4. Establish and facilitate regular youth meetings (i.e. small groups, Bible studies, social gatherings, etc).
5. Develop and maintain youth leadership team, complete with regular planning meetings.
6. Managing Jr. High & Sr. High Discipleship teachers and curriculum.
7. Promote district and national youth participation.
8. Expose youth to service opportunities in and around the local community, as well as within the church and short-term mission trips.
9. Maintain individual interaction with youth (online interaction: Facebook, Twitter, Email & personal interaction: attend extra curricular events, school visits).

Children’s Ministry & Parents’ Ministry

1. Oversee the spiritual development and fulfillment of the children’s ministry vision.
2. Lead forward in the Think Orange Process by manage/administrate/equip and resource the curriculum & staffing for First Look (pre-school) & 252 (Elementary).
3. Assist Christian Education Ministry in Development of the children’s ministry team through recruiting, orientation, training, organizing, and encouraging.
4. Provide leadership, guidance and resourcing for Parents in conjunction with the curriculum.
5. Develop, oversee and evaluate the processes that ensure the safety and security of all children during all programs.

Other Pastoral Duties

1. Assist with planning and implementation of Sunday morning worship services (including preaching as needed).
2. Participate in all Staff and Advisory Board meetings.
3. Provide counseling on an as needed basis.
4. Perform weddings, funerals, baptisms and baby dedications as needed.

Denomination/Community

1. Represent the church by serving on appropriate committees or boards of the Brethren Church (Ashland, OH) and the Indiana District of the Brethren Church.
2. Participate in monthly district Youth Pastor’s Cluster.
3. Be involved in the life of the community.

Continuing Ed

1. Attend conferences/seminars for professional development.
2. Regularly read various books, articles, blogs related to ministry.

Youth Pastor Job Description

Youth Pastor Qualifications

1. Has a sincere and evident love for God and His Word

4. Must be in agreement with the doctrinal statement of Hunters Creek Community Church
5. Must be able to work under and in agreement with our Senior Pastor
6. Meets the qualifications of godly leadership listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, 1 Timothy 4:12, and Titus 1:6-9, thus demonstrating spiritual and emotional maturity that teens will be inspired to emulate
7. Background is above reproach, and has high recommendations from others, including pastors and other church leaders, co-laborers in ministry, teens, and parents of teens
8. Prefer someone with a bachelor’s or master’s degree that has provided sufficient ministry preparation from a Biblically-based Christian college, university or seminary
9. Is ordained or interested in pursuing ordination
10. Prefer someone with previous experience and success working in youth ministry
11. Is an enthusiastic and engaging teacher and speaker who knows how to connect with teens and ignite their passion for Christ
12. Prefer a married man whose spouse has a strong desire to work alongside him, as a youth leader, in ministering to the youth and their families
13. Is a servant-leader who demonstrates initiative, values input, ideas, and suggestions, and involves others through delegation
14. Knows how to have fun with teens while maintaining respect as their leader
15. Is approachable, easily engages in conversation, and enjoys reaching out to people of all ages
16. Intends to settle in with a long-term commitment, believing that longevity will give increasing strength and depth to their ministry, and will contribute to the overall health and stability of the church

Banquo Christian Church in Banquo, IN is seeking a part time youth pastor. Banquo Christian Church is an independent Christian church located 10-15 minutes from the towns of La Fontaine and Andrews; and 15-20 minutes from the cities of Marion and Huntington. Our vision is to glorify God by fulfilling the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ in the power of His Spirit.

The primary focus of the ministry will be Jr. and Sr. High School students. Duties will include:

• Modeling faithful service to Jesus Christ and His church
• Teaching Sunday school
• Teaching Wednesday evenings
• Plan and lead in outreach and ministry activities
• Plan and lead in recreational-fellowship activities

There are already ministries and leaders in place for younger children, so your responsibilities toward elementary age students would be extremely minimal. You would certainly be welcome to help out with younger children, but would not be expected to. The only exception would be the week of VBS during which you would be expected to help coordinate the involvement of the teens in the program. (Last year we used Answers in Genesis curriculum.)

Currently the group averages 6-8 in attendance. Latitude and empowerment will be given to the person who demonstrates faithfulness and responsibility. You will find a solid core of people who will be eager to do whatever they can to help your ministry and service prosper.

Qualifications include: Knowledge of the Bible and ability to teach it; demonstrated record of service in a local church; a desire to see Christ formed in the lives of the youth.

This will be a paid position, but you will almost certainly need another source of income.

First Mennonite Church in Berne, IN is seeking a part-time youth pastor. This position involves partnering with the Christian education director to oversee youth programs and events for grades 6th-12th.

This role will include:

• Relationship building and mentoring youth
• Wednesday night services
• Sunday School
• Sunday evenings twice a month (small groups meet the other two Sundays)
• Organize trips, retreats, service projects, etc.

Culver Bible Church, located approximately one hour west of Winona Lake, In., is seeking a youth director for their teens.  This church is located in the beautiful lakeside community of Culver, home of Lake Maxinkuckee and Culver Military Academy.

Culver Bible Church is an independent church of about 25 people.  Their pastor, Daniel Huhn (Grace  College and Seminary graduate) has been ministering there since 1977.  Currently they have 5 teens, with the hope of growing.  The teens are a great group of kids, two of the girls having been Child Evangelism Fellowship summer missionaries for 2-3 years, and a third girl considering it for this summer.

Job description includes meeting with the teens about once a week, could be during the morning Sunday School, or maybe Sunday evening.  This would be ideal for a married couple, but a single guy would be great, too.  Meals, gas reimbursement would be provided, along with housing if needed for the night.

Salary will be meager (the pastor himself has to work outside the church) but the challenges and opportunities are abundant.   For example, in this little town of 1000 population and eight churches, we are the only church who consistently preaches the gospel.   There is no competition.  Even though this community is hard, the church is warm with a family atmosphere.
