We are watching to see where God is at work in our community, and prayerfully joining Him in His work.  We have 32 acres of land, a softball field, which is used by Legacy Ministry Sports program, with hopes to further expand our presence in the community through sports programs.

Our congregation is anxious to move forward and we realize that our key areas of need are in the areas of Worship and Music & in the development of a Youth Program.  This is a full-time position.

Youth Pastor Job Description
To reach and disciple 7th–12th grade youth for Christ through intentional evangelism1, relational discipleship2, solid Bible teaching3, sincere shepherding4, exemplary living5, loving correction6, and equipping for and involvement in ministry7. This work is to be done in cooperation with their parents and a team of committed adult leaders, and with the goal of making fully-devoted, fruit-bearing disciples of Christ who are well-grounded and prepared to defend their faith and impact their world for Christ. 1 2 Tim. 4:5; 2 Matt. 28:19-20; 3 2 Tim. 4:2-4, Titus 1:9; 4 1 Pet. 5:2-4; 5 1 Pet. 5:3, Phil. 4:9; 6 2 Tim. 2:24-26; 7 Eph. 4:11-16

Youth Pastor Qualifications

  1. Has a sincere and evident love for God and His Word
  2. Demonstrates genuine love and care for others
  3. Has a strong desire and passion to reach and disciple junior and senior high youth
  4. Must be in agreement with the doctrinal statement of Hunters Creek Community Church
  5. Must be able to work under and in agreement with our Senior Pastor
  6. Meets the qualifications of godly leadership listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, 1 Timothy 4:12, and Titus 1:6-9, thus demonstrating spiritual and emotional maturity that teens will be inspired to emulate
  7. Background is above reproach, and has high recommendations from others, including pastors and other church leaders, co-laborers in ministry, teens, and parents of teens
  8. Prefer someone with a bachelor’s or master’s degree that has provided sufficient ministry preparation from a Biblically-based Christian college, university or seminary
  9. Is ordained or interested in pursuing ordination
  10. Prefer someone with previous experience and success working in youth ministry
  11. Is an enthusiastic and engaging teacher and speaker who knows how to connect with teens and ignite their passion for Christ
  12. Prefer a married man whose spouse has a strong desire to work alongside him, as a youth leader, in ministering to the youth and their families
  13. Is a servant-leader who demonstrates initiative, values input, ideas, and suggestions, and involves others through delegation
  14. Knows how to have fun with teens while maintaining respect as their leader
  15. Is approachable, easily engages in conversation, and enjoys reaching out to people of all ages
  16. Intends to settle in with a long-term commitment, believing that longevity will give increasing strength and depth to their ministry, and will contribute to the overall health and stability of the church
