Jackson, Kauffman Pull in League Awards
Following Grace’s finest Crossroads League season in program history, the Lady Lancers were given mention on the CL’s First Team in Juaneice Jackson and Second Team in Allison Kauffman.
“I’m very proud of the entire team this year. They staying together and stayed strong after a slow start and accomplished a lot as a team,” said Grace head coach Scott Blum. “JJ [Jackson] had another solid year and was recognized as a top player in our conference. She fought through ups and downs of the season and stayed focused on winning as a team. Allie [Kauffman] led the conference in double-doubles and was top five in a lot of other categories. Her leadership and talent she beings to the team makes this award well-deserved.”
Juaneice Jackson was the second-highest vote-getter in the CL this season, picking up her second consecutive First Team award. She finished the regular season with a league-leading 2.6 steals per game and was second in scoring at 18.5 ppg.
Additionally, Jackson became Grace’s all-time scoring champ in a win at Taylor on Jan. 25. She has produced 1,799 points so far in her storied career.
Allison Kauffman, an honorable mention for league awards last season, was the top vote-getter on the CL’s Second Team. The junior forward posted 16.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game for the Lady Lancers, ranking fifth in the league in scoring and sixth in rebounding.
Kauffman’s nine double-doubles during the regular season was tied for the most in the CL.
The Lady Lancers finished with a program-best 12-6 record in the Crossroads League in 2013-14.
