The Final Heritage Forum, a celebration of both 75 years of Grace College & Seminary and 100 years of Winona Lake, will take place Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 7:00 PM in Westminster Hall.
The event will be moderated by Christy Hill from Grace Theological Seminary. Panelists include Al Disbro, author of Images of America: Winona Lake; Terry White, author of Winona at 100: Third Wave Rising; Jim Swanson of Grace College, and M.M. Norris of Grace College, with commentary by Perry Bush of Bluffton University.
For the past year, an ad hoc committee of volunteers has been meeting to plan a series of events that highlight and commemorate Winona Lake’s centennial. Beginning with the Juried Art Fair in June and the Firecracker 5k and Venetian Nights boat parade in July, several events throughout the summer and fall of 2013 highlight the 100th anniversary of the incorporation of the Town of Winona Lake, culminating with the annual Community Appreciation Dinner in November. Events have included The Historic Homes Tour, the Rodeheaver Hymn Sing at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, the “Winona at 100” book signing at the Mercantile and more.
Members of the committee included Craig Allebach (chair), Ryan Burgher, Jared Burkholder, Al Disbro, Carol Forbes, Holly Hummitch, Ellen Swaim, and Terry White.
