Grace Accounting Students’ Exam Scores Rank Among Highest in Country

Hard-working students and professors have put Grace College on the map once again as graduates of the accounting program ranked 10th out of 793 institutions nationwide for first time pass rate on the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exams.

Aside from its extraordinary nationwide ranking, Grace also placed 4th in the country for high exam scores in the category of small institutions. This success on the part of the Accounting Department is a significant marker in the school’s history.

“I’m happy for the graduates and for Grace,” said Associate Professor of Accounting Roger Stichter. “I had a feeling Grace was doing well in CPA exam pass rates but never dreamed we would score 10th in the nation for a year. These students worked hard during their accounting courses at Grace, took a good CPA exam review course and considered the taking of the CPA exam a serious matter.”

Stichter also pointed to the investment and teaching of Dr. Brad Lemler, Professor of Accounting, as a significant factor in the graduates’ recent success.

“This is wonderful news for our accounting program and great confirmation of Roger and Brad’s hard work with our accounting students,” said Jeff Fawcett, Professor of Marketing and Dean of the School of Business.

The achievements that Grace’s business department has enjoyed are an excellent model of the college’s desire to encourage graduates to excel in their studies and prepare for careers that will require competency and professionalism.
