Pastor – Grace Baptist Church, Whitewater KS
Grace Baptist Church of rural Whitewater, Kansas is currently looking for a pastor. Our church is an unaffiliated independent Baptist church which is seeking membership with Independent Fundamental Churches of America. We are in agreement with their doctrinal statement and distinctiveness and have good fellowship with Bible believing churches in the area. Although our name says Baptist, a better description would be Bible or Community. Our attendance is around 100 with two thirds or more of the attendees below age 40. GBC is about 25 miles NE of Wichita, most of the people live in the country with agriculture and aircraft employing the majority of wage earners. We do not support divorce or remarriage of divorced individuals. Our music preference is conservative. We have Sunday School for all ages at 9:45 and the worship service at 10:45. There is no evening service. Midweek Bible study and prayer is Wednesday at 7:00. We have recently moved to an elder-led form of church government and are still in process of implementation. The financial disbursement for last year was $123,481 of which $24,977 was for missions. The church is debt free.
Pastoral responsibilities would include being the paid preaching/teaching elder, working together with the other elders in visitation and counseling, visionary in working together in fulfilling the Great Commission within the church, the community and abroad. Other pastoral duties would include but not limited to planning the worship service, leading prayer meeting and occasional participation in the local nursing home service.
Janitorial duties and building and grounds responsibilities are not part of this job description.
