Record Number of Undergraduate Students Enrolled in Grace College’s Online Courses

With the advent of Grace College’s new “reimagine” program—an accelerated three-year degree option—came alterations in how the school offers its academic credits. One of these was a move to offering more online summer courses: classes with fully integrated curriculum and fully equipped instructors that are taken through the school’s Learning Management System instead of in an on-campus classroom.

Launched on May 28 of this year, the online program offers a large variety of classes. This year, 418 students enrolled in one or more courses (671 total), in 34 course sections.

The Department of Online Education is glad to see that an increasing number of undergraduates are becoming interested in this new format of education. They believe the school will see additional increase in enrollment next year as students seek to find a balance between on and off-campus courses according to what best fits their higher-education timeline and their financial needs. One unique aspect of the three-year plan allows students to take tuition-free online summer courses; this option is also available to traditional undergraduate students. This is further expression of Grace’s commitment to affordable higher education.

The success of the online program is yet another winning facet of the “reimagine” campaign which has brought a 17 percent increase in freshman enrollment. At the forefront of Grace’s mission is the idea that providing a wide variety of educational paths will ultimately lead students to academic and vocational success. Grace has realized an effective combination of cost-efficiency and a multiplicity of educational alternatives without sacrificing its earmark dedication to a quality college experience.
