Grace College Art Department Presents Art Encounters Series

The Grace College Art Department is hosting its Spring 2012 Art Encounters series for students in grades 1-12.  The program, directed by Grace graduate Leah Damon, is comprised of two series of classes beginning April 9, with one class meeting on Mondays and the other on Tuesdays, through May 1.  The cost is $35 per student for each series of classes.

The Monday series, entitled ‘Color Exploration for Kids’ will meet from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Mount Memorial Hall room 105.  The course will meet on April 9, 16, 23 and 30.  In this class, students will explore the exciting world of color through the use of paints, pastels, and mixed media.

The Tuesday series, entitled ‘Art and Children’s Literature’ will meet from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Mount Memorial Hall room 105.  This course will meet on April 10, 17, and 24, and May 1.  In this class, students will look at the art and illustrations from famous children’s literature, including works by Dr. Seuss.

The $35 fee per student for each series includes six hours of instruction and all materials for one themed course. Parents interested in registering their children should act quickly, as class size is limited.
