Position Title: Pastor

Summary Description:
Mt Pleasant Church is seeking a solo pastor for our small rural congregation. The candidate must be able to preach and teach the Word clearly. He must have a love for people of all ages. We are seeking a man who is self motivated and guided by a servant’s attitude. He must see the youth as the future of the church. He will lead us in evangelizing our community and the world.

Reason for Opening:
Our pastor for the last 4 years is leaving moving to a church closer to his family in Pennsylvania.

Major responsibilities associated with this position:
Sunday morning sermons are a priority. Sunday & Wednesday evenings are open for suggestion. House groups and children s services have been discussed as replacements for standard services. The Pastor will need to have a passion for visitation with the sick & elderly. Interest in guiding the youth leaders and participation in children s ministries is important. Connecting with the members outside of church hours is also desired. The Pastor is a member of & leads the board meetings.

Skills/Strengths Needed:
Ability to preach the Word in a clear manner and make it applicable to daily life. We are in need of a new vision. We need someone who can energize people and make them feel good about what they can accomplish for the Lord. The body needs to be built up so it can be useful.Â

Characteristics of the person we are looking for in this position:Â
Someone who loves the Lord and believes the Bible to be the inerrant word of God. He must be outgoing and comfortable around people. Since he will be working on his own much of time he must be a self starter and to work without a lot of supervision. We want an enthusiastic person who will reach out to the youth and adults in the community.

Salary:  Dependent on Experience. 

Housing:  Parsonage – A large 4 bedroom parsonage with basement sitting on 1 acre of land. The parsonage has recently been remodeled. Phone & electric are funded by the congregation. 

Benefits Package:  Health Insurance, mileage reimbursement. Flexible based on needs of pastor.
