Super Market Sweep – Give ‘Till You Drop, December 7, 2011

The Student Activities Board (SAB) at Grace College is partnering with Owen’s Supermarket on East Center Street to host the first ever Super Market Sweep, Give ‘Till You Drop event on Wednesday, December 7, from 8-11p.m.

The Super Market Sweep is an evening for students and community members to give back to the Warsaw/Winona Lake community.  SAB is asking students to form teams of any size and collect coupons as well as raise money to spend at the Super Market Sweep.  On December 7, teams will come to Owen’s Supermarket, 2211 East Center Street, and spend their money by purchasing food items for the Christmas season.  The food will be collected and donated to local families in need as well as other local organizations.

Prizes will be awarded to the team that saves the most money as well as the team that purchases the most items.  Financial donations have been provided by Mission Point Community Church, New Horizon Community Church, and DePuy Orthopaedics.  A special thanks to Owen’s Supermarket and manager, Charles Neuwirth for partnering with SAB to host this shopping spree.  Join the Christmas spirit by giving this year, come shop the Super Market Sweep on December 7!

It is so nice to hear that the community is in the real spirit of the season, rather than persuaded by marketers.
