This morning the men’s soccer team headed to the pitch for their training session. Despite the training session being short, the men made the most of their time. The focus of the session was to work on possession and getting more comfortable on the ball. Also, the lads worked on finishing and were able to get in some fitness.
After lunch, the team headed to the outlet malls to find some of the remaining Black Friday deals. From there it was a free afternoon before heading to the Championship Kick-off Dinner in the evening.
Meanwhile, the women’s soccer team headed to the training ground before lunch time to have the final session before the tournament kicks off tomorrow. Like the men, it was a time to get a feel for the Bermuda grass pitch, work on possession, fitness, and touch on the ball.
While both soccer teams were on the training ground, the volleyball team was in the air headed to Kissimmee. Upon arrival, the team picked up lunch at KFC and had the afternoon to rest.
In the evening, the soccer teams went to the kick-off dinner at the Campus Crusade for Christ headquarters. At the dinner, the teams all participating teams were introduced followed by guest speakers.
Meanwhile, coach Andria Harshman had one goal for her girls. Have fun. To get things started, the team went to Carrabba’s Italian Grill for dinner. From there, the team visited the Town Center of Celebration.
In Celebration, a quaint little town of the main roads, the girls snapped pictures in front of the lighted Christmas tree on the lake and toured the town. For the tour, the girls hopped on a horse-drawn carriage to take a ride around town. During the ride, the girls sang a number of Christmas carols to serenade the other patrons. Back at the hotel, Harshman deemed the night a success and mission accomplished.
Tomorrow is a big day for the Lancers. Volleyball will have their final practice session and be involved in the Christian Service Project. The highlight of the day will be on the soccer pitch for the first day of competition. The women will kick-off against Asbury University at 12:00 p.m. and the men will face off against Judson University at 2:30 p.m. Listen live to both matches here.
