Lancer Legacy Day Proves A Success
On September 10, Grace College and Seminary hosted its first annual Lancer Legacy Day. The event, which was held at Miller Field on the Grace College Campus, was created to honor current and former Lancer athletes. Grace’s Alumni Services invited alumni athletes to join Lancer Legacy Day as a way to celebrate Grace’s rich athletic history.
The Lancer athletic teams, including Softball, Men’s Tennis, Men’s Soccer, Women’s Soccer, Cross Country, and Baseball, showcased their talents throughout the day. The Grace student body attended the day to support the Lancer teams and to honor the alumni athletes, and later the students were treated to a picnic lunch.
During Lancer Legacy Day, Grace gave special recognition to several alumni athletes – Stephen Miller for Men’s Soccer, Jolie Miller for Women’s Softball, Aubrey Alcorn for Women’s Soccer, and Jon Hueni for Men’s Tennis.
Director of Alumni Services Tammy Denlinger pronounced the day a success. “We were thrilled to have such a great turnout for this event – we had 30 Grace alumni athletes celebrate Lancer athletics with us. The day was a fun way for us to connect athletes past and present while celebrating Grace’s future athletic successes.”
