Hacienda Night to Support Grace Student Veterans
by Octavia Lehman
Do you like burritos, quesadillas, or mudslides? You’re in good hands. The Student Veterans Organization is partnering with Hacienda for a “Hacienda Gives Back” event.
Next Wednesday, on Nov. 10, Hacienda will donate 20 percent of their sales to the SVO.
From 11 a.m. until close, students and faculty who visit Hacienda can present a token along with their bill. Hacienda will then donate 20 percent of the bill to the SVO.
According to the president of the SVO, Wayne Thomas, he considers it a win-win situation. “You get great food, and you are helping out a good cause,” he explained.
In order for SVO to receive any money, a token must be presented with the bill.
Tokens have already been distributed to all campus mailboxes.
Extra tokens are available at the Office of the Registrar, the Post Office, and Student Affairs. Without a token the group will receive no money.
The SVO is a newly established group at Grace College. Currently there are 22 student veterans at Grace College. Money raised from the event will allow the group to do more activities, and maintain a newly constructed resource center.
A few of the faculty have donated their time to help serve at the event. Professor Laurie Owen, will be serving, as well as Dr. Rata, the chair of the Biblical Studies Dept. Dr. Rata is scheduled to serve at 9:30 p.m.
If you would like more information about the event, please contact Wayne Thomas at email@example.com
