The Grace women's track team finished their indoor season with yet another strong showing with three more school records.
Kristin Hawkins place fourth in the 5000 with a school record time of 19:17.65. The 4x800 relay team of Amy Misak, Heather Vaughn, Ashley Thomas and MariJean Wegert placed 5th improving their school record from last week by 18 seconds to 10:20.66. Joscelyn Buford broke her record that she shared with Kirah Fifield in the 55 m with a 9th place finish time of 7.61. Kirah Fifield continued to run strong in the 55 hurdles with a 4th place time of 8.89. Fifield also placed 14th in the 55 dash with at time of 7.74. Fifield, Wegert, Erica Bare and Buford place 5th in the 4x200 with a time of 1:55.95. Caryn Britton competed in the weight throw. Placing 20th with a toss of 34' 3'.
"We competed at a high level in spite of sickness and injuries thorough out the week, the women still managed to perform well at a national meet," said head coach Neal Butler. " I am very proud of how all of them compete. We look forward to the outdoor season and expect it to be another time of great performances."
The women have set a total of 12 school records for this indoor season. Kirah Fifield with compete in the NAIA National Track Meet in the 60m hurdles. The competition will take place March 4-6 in Johnson City , TN. The outdoor season with start with the Polar Bear Invitational at Indiana Wesleyan University on March 20 at 4 p.m.
