Briscoe To Lead Grace College Athletic Department
WINONA
LAKE, Ind. - Grace College has hired Chad Briscoe to be the new athletic director
and to lead the Lancer athletic programs.
"I am excited to be part of the Grace family and I hope I am able to help enhance
the pieces that are already in place," said Briscoe. "I look forward to being
part of something that is heading in the right direction."
Briscoe comes to Grace from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania where
he was an assistant athletic director and the head assistant men's basketball
coach. While at Geneva, Briscoe also taught in the Physical Education department.
Before Geneva College, Briscoe was at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana
for two years. There, Briscoe was the administrative assistant men's basketball
coach and Physical Education instructor.
Prior to Ball State, Briscoe spent two seasons as the assistant men's basketball
coach at Anderson University, his alma mater. He was a four year letter winner
for the Anderson basketball program from 1991-1995.
Briscoe played professionally overseas in Sweden from 1995-2001 for Fackelbararna,
Nassjo and Bankeryrd.
During the six years that Briscoe played basketball, he worked in professional
baseball during the summers back in the States. Briscoe worked three summers
for the Anderson Lawmen, an independent minor league team, in marketing and
game day operations.
From 1998-2000, Briscoe served as the general manager for the Pulaski Rangers,
a Rookie League affiliate of the Texas Rangers. In 1999, Pulaski was selected
as the Appalachian Organization of the Year.
Briscoe will begin his duties as the Grace College Athletic Director on August
1.
The new Orthopaedic Capital Center should enhance Lancer athletics according
to Briscoe. "The Grace athletic department has a huge opportunity for growth
with the addition of the Orthopaedic Capital Center. The OCC should help bring
success in the very near future for Grace."
He is married to his wife Jamie and the couple has one child, Kate.
