Rachel Braddock-Softball
May 5, 2008
Former Warsaw High School athlete Rachel Braddock has signed to play softball at Grace College in 2008-2009. Braddock returns to Grace after transfer to IPFW this past year. She intends on continuing her major in Elementary Education and Special Education. Rachel is looking forward to finishing up at Grace while playing softball.

"My goal is to enjoy the season and become a better player," Braddock said. "I am excited to be at Grace as I finish my education."


Patrick Breslin-Men's Soccer
May 5, 2008
The men's soccer program has signed another recruit for the 2008 season. Patrick Breslin signed a NAIA letter of intent to continue his soccer career with the Lancers. Patrick is from Parma Heights, OH where he was an outstanding player at Hearts for Jesus. Some of his accomplishments include NACA Player of the Year, scoring 79 goals with 52 assists in four years as a varsity player. While at Grace he intends to major in Business Administration.

"I loved the Christian environment, the people, and the community feeling on campus," Patrick said. "I want to play as hard as I can and help the men's soccer team be successful."


Kate Ball-Women's Basketball
May 5, 2008

Above senior Kate Ball signs a letter of intent to play basketball at Grace College. Kate was a four year member of the girls basketball and track & field programs at Southside High School in Fort Wayne, IN. During her high school playing career, Ball was a two time Sectional Champion, a Regional Champion and played in a Final Four. Kate intends on majoring in Elementary Education while at Grace and is excited about continuing her career at Grace.

"I hope to be a contributor on the team and hope to help them have more success," Ball said. "I liked Grace because it was small and the campus was nice and I felt that I could play basketball there."

Women's basketball coach Scott Blum is excited about another addition to his women's program.

"Kate has size and athletic ability that can be used at our level," Blum said. "She has the ability to hit the three and will develop into a good low post player as well. Her love for the game and the Lord is one area that she will contribute to our program."


Chad Schumucker-Cross Country
May 1, 2008
Chad Schumucker has signed to continue his running career at Grace College. Chad comes to Grace from Northwood High School in Nappanee where he was a member of the Track and Cross Country teams for the past four years. While running at Northwood, Schumucker was a team captain, team MVP and a varsity runner all four years. He has been an active member of Business Professionals of American and plans on majoring in Business Administration while attending Grace. When asked why he selected Grace College to continue his education Chad said, "It has an amazing atmosphere and a very friendly staff."

"Chad has had one of the most successful Cross Country careers of all the runners I have coached in the past ten years," said high school coach Mark Mikel. "It has been an honor to have coached Chad and I know he will continue to develop as a runner in college."


Megan Hadley-Softball

Megan Hadley has signed a NAIA letter of intent to continue her softball career at Grace College. Hadley was a four year member of the softball and volleyball team at East Knox High School, where she held the highest batting average, highest on-base percentage and a winner of the Coaches Award. Megan intends on majoring in Criminal Justice and Behavioral Science.

"I chose Grace College because I want to grow both academically and spiritually while playing the sport I love," Megan said about attending Grace. "I would like to play to my potential and be used wherever the team needs me."

"Megan is a very coachable, hard working young lady," said high school coach Ron Looney. "She will play anywhere and has done a very good job this year as a senior leader."

Megan is the daughter of Guy and Lisa Hadley.


Randy Sterk-Men's Cross Country
April 30, 2008

The Grace College men's Cross Country team has added another member to their recruiting class of 2008. Randy Sterk from McBain High School has signed a letter of intent to continue his running career with the Lancers. Sterk is a three year varsity runner and an Academic All-State, All-Conference and All-Regional participate. Randy is intending to major in Biology and is currently a member of National Honor Society.

"I was looking for a Christian college where I could run and Grace seemed like the best fit," Sterk said. "I plan on improving and competing at a high level."


Daniel Ng-Men's Track
April 30, 2008

Daniel Ng has signed a letter of intent to run for the Grace College Cross Country and Track & Field teams. Daniel is from Vestal High School in Vestal, NY and intends to major in Graphic Design while at Grace. During his prep career Ng received the Most Improved Award and the Co-MVP Award. When asked why he selected Grace College Daniel said, "Grace provided a great place for me to grow spiritually and they have a good art program as well."

"Daniel has showed great improvement in his running due to his own motivation," said high school coach Michael Olson. "He has a desire and willingness to focus his attention when needed."


Joel Franklin-Men's Soccer
April 29, 2008

The Grace College Men's Soccer team has signed another recruit for the 2008 season. Joel Franklin of Winona Lake, IN signed a letter of intent Monday to continue his career with the Lancers. Joel is a four year varsity player from Lakeland Christian Academy will add an offensive punch for Grace next season. Franklin was a two year LCA Offensive Player of the Year, a three time All-Conference player, along with the team MVP in 2007. While at Grace Joel plans on majoring in Business and is looking forward to the challenges ahead.

"I felt like God was leading me to Grace," Franklin said. "I want to be successful in the classroom and also contribute something positive to my soccer team."


Rebecca Mondich-Women's Soccer

The Grace College women's soccer team has continued to build this offseason with recruits and they welcome Rebecca Mondich from Edwardsburg, MI. Mondich transfers to Grace from the University of Michigan. Her prep career saw her earn MVP honors from her freshman to her senior year as well as being a scholar athlete. Rebecca plans on majoring in Biology while at Grace with intentions of going into medicine. She is an outstanding student while graduating in the top 10-percent of her class, a member of the National Honor Society along with 4 Year Academic Excellence.


Emily Gillentine-Volleyball

The Grace College Volleyball team has added another player in Emily Gillentine from Medina, Ohio. Emily has been a two year varsity player at Highland High School and plans on majoring in Special Education at Grace. When asked why she selected Grace Emily said, "I felt the most at home and everyone was extremely nice to me." Grace recently hired new head volleyball coach Andria Harshman, who was a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Notre Dame in 2007.


Andrea Knight-Volleyball

Grace College has announced that Andrea Knight has signed a letter of intent to continue her volleyball career with the Lancers. Knight comes from Indian Creek High School and has been an All-County Honorable Mention player for her high school. She is also a member of the track and field team. Andrea plans on majoring in Biology at Grace with intentions of going into medicine. Some of the awards Andrea has received over her time in high school include National Honor Society, Superintendents Award, Academic Athlete Award and Who's Who Among High School Students.

"The Christian atmosphere at Grace allows me to grow in the Lord and I have the opportunity to play volleyball while getting a good education," Knight said. "I want to improve my skills while encouraging my teammates and growing closer to the Lord."


Laura Pasche-Track & Field

The Grace College Track & Field team has added its newest member in Laura Pasche. Laura is from Starbuck, MN where she was a pole vaulter at Little Chippewa Academy. Laura intends on majoring in Accounting at Grace and is a member of Business Professionals of America, Who's Who of High School Academics, National Deans List and Phi Theta Kappa.

"I chose Grace because of its Christian values, good accounting program and athletic teams," said Pasche. "I want to compete at the national level in pole vault and receive All-American honors along with break the school record."


Abby Dutcher-Women's Basketball
April 28, 2008
The women's basketball team continues to add depth to the roster with the recent signing of Abby Dutcher. Abby was the captain of her varsity team and played varsity for two seasons with a record of 28-13 in that time. She is a member of National Honor Society and will graduate with the highest honors this spring. When asked about her decision to come to Grace College Abby said, "I really have a passion for helping people and I think that Grace can really help me build that quality." Abby intends on majoring in Elementary Education.


Alison Spahr-Cross Country
April 28, 2008
Alison Spahr, from Huntington North High School, has selected Grace College to continue her running career. Alison was a member of the girls track and cross country teams at Huntington North and comes to Grace with numerous accolades such as mental attitude winner, state qualifier, sectional champion, and rookie of the year. She holds the record for being a member of the 4 x 800 relay and is excited about running at Grace College.

"I am confident that I will be under a 20-minute 5K in cross country," Spahr said. "I really hope to become one of the strongest runners on the team."

Alison is ranked 5th in her class and holds an 11.2 GPA on an 11 scale. She is an Academic Letter Recipient, Academic All-State, Wendy's Heisman School winner and is focused on graduating from college with a 4.0 GPA.


Dustin Hickle-Men's Golf
April 28, 2008
Dustin Hickle has signed a letter of intent to continue his golf career at Grace College. Dustin comes from Southside High School in Fort Wayne, IN and has been the number one golfer for the Archers the past three years. He has won the team's MVP award for three years and well as being a four year letter winner. He intends on majoring in Social Studies and is a member of the honor roll, top 10-percent of his graduating class, National Honors Society and is a Scholar Athlete.

"I picked Grace because I want to improve my game while being able to enjoy my college experience," said Dustin.

Hayley Cashier-Women's Basketball
April 21, 2008

Coach Scott Blum has signed another future player for his women's basketball program in recruit Hayley Cashier from Buchanan High School. Cashier is an All-State Honorable Mention and the school's 3rd all-time leading scorer. Other honors Hayley has received are 1st team Lakeland Conference, BCAM Honors, 2nd all-time rebounder and 1st team Lakeland Academics. Hayley intends on majoring in Business Management and is currently a member of National Honor Society, and Academic Presidential Award.

"I selected Grace College because of the Christian atmosphere," Hayley said. "I am excited about playing at the college level and want to win a championship."

Coach Blum is very positive that Hayley will have an immediate impact on the Lady Lancers next season.

"Hayley will bring depth to our program because she has the ability to play three positions," said Blum. "She will have an impact on our program right away and will add her talent with the class we have coming in."


Victoria Casey-Women's Soccer
April 19, 2008

The Grace College women's soccer team is excited to announce the addition of Victoria Casey from Heritage Christian High School in Indianapolis, IN. Victoria is an outstanding high school player, decorated with numerous awards including All-Conference, CCAC Champion, All-City, Sectional Runner-up, ISCA Top Player, Female Athlete of the Year, and Defensive MVP. She also was a member of the basketball team and field hockey team. Victoria plans on majoring in Counseling and Spanish when she enrolls in the fall.

"I chose Grace because I know I will be challenged to go deeper in my faith," said Casey on her choice to sign with Grace. "I also really connected with Coach Voss and the girls on the team and I know that I will be valued both as a person and a player."

Victoria is involved with Heritage Christian Honors Society, the Student Athletic Board and is a Highest Academic Honors Student.


Kendall Withered-Women's Basketball
April 14, 2008

Southwestern (Hanover) High School standout Kendall Withered has signed a letter of intent to continue her playing career for the Grace College Lady Lancers. Kendall is a duel sport athlete in both basketball and softball and has received honors in both for all-conference, all-sectional, all-regional as well as a member of the 1,000 point club. This past season, Kendall averaged 15 points and 5 assists per game for Southwestern and is interested in majoring in Sports Administration at Grace.

"I really liked the atmosphere, coaching staff and facilities at Grace," Kendall said about her visit to Winona Lake, IN. "Some of my athletic goals are to continue to improve and help make the team better."

Lady Lancer head coach Scott Blum is excited about the addition of Withered to the team.

"Kendall has played under a Hall of Fame Coach at Southwestern, in Coach Cheatham and will be very solid in the fundamentals of the game," said Coach Blum. "Kendall will bring an outside shooting threat with the ability to attack the basket with the dribble. She has a very high IQ and passion for the game."


Andrea Whealy-Women's Basketball

Andrea Whealy has chosen Grace College to continue her basketball career. The Lakeland Christian Academy standout helped lead LCA to the 2007 Final Four and 2008 Elite Eight in the Indiana Christian State Tournament. Over her two years at LCA, Andrea scored 714 points while connecting on 106 three pointers and was a two time Cougar Classic All-Tourney selection. Whealy has shown a great deal of leadership with her involvement in her church, high school athletic teams, school activities and mission trips. She intends to major in Business and Bible Theology at Grace and feels that Grace was where God was leading her.

"I chose Grace because I felt that God was leading me in that direction," Andrea said. "I am excited for basketball and my main goal is to learn as much as possible in my first season and improve my God given skills."

"Andrea brought a renewed energy to the Lady Cougar basketball program when she came to LCA her junior year," said high school basketball coach Jay Lavender. "She was so talented that she could start the break, spot up for a jumper, or finish in transition and that is a special talent."

Kelcy Martin-Softball

The Grace College softball team is proud to announce the addition of Kelcy Martin to the recruiting class of 2008. Martin will graduate from Warsaw Community High School this spring and comes to Grace intending to major in Art, French, and Fitness. Kelcy is a four year player for the Lady Tigers team and has accomplished all-conference status all four years in high school. She was also a key part in helping bring the Warsaw Lady Tigers their first sectional championship title since 1991.

"Grace has what most colleges don't which is a Christian atmosphere and is such a giving and caring community," Kelcy said about her decision to choose Grace. "I would love to help bring the Grace Lady Lancer softball team back to the top of the MCC conference and to win many championships."


Hannah Lengel-Women's Basketball
April 10, 2008

The Grace College women's basketball team has continued to add new players to their program and Hannah Lengel is the newest member. Hannah will graduate from Southwood High School this spring and has been a four year member of the girl's basketball team. Through her time at Southwood she has been named Wabash County Player of the Year, 1st team all-conference, Indiana Top 100 seniors and is the schools all time leading scorer with 1249 points. Lengel broke eight school records including most career assists and best free throw percentage. She plans on majoring in business and is the valedictorian in her graduating class. Hannah also was selected as a member of the Indiana-Ohio All-Star Game for Nancy Rehm.

"I felt comfortable on the Grace campus and enjoyed the Christian atmosphere," Hannah said about visiting Grace. "I would like to help the Lady Lancers win as many games as possible and also look forward to having fun with the girls on the team and learn a lot from the experience."

"Hannah is going to be a great asset to our program and she will be playing the point guard position and will provide a lot of experience from that position," said head coach Scott Blum. "Hannah adds another guard that loves to push the ball up the floor."

Sean Smith-Men's Track & Field
April 10, 2008
Sean Smith from Carroll Jr./Sr. High School in Bringhurst, Indiana has signed a letter of intent to continue his track career at Grace College. Smith is a four year letter winner in both Track and Cross Country and has been recognized as an all-conference winner, a regional qualifier and a semi-state qualifier. Smith intends to major in Biblical Studies and minor in Pre-Law. He is currently ranked 11th in his senior class with a 3.968 GPA. Sean is a member of National Honor Society, student council and is also a DARE Role Model. Smith was awarded the top 10 Scholar Award for the past three years.

"Grace is a perfect fit for me academically, spiritually, and athletically," said Sean about his college choice. "I was looking for a college that is small and Christian based and Grace is that perfect fit for me."

Mike Miller, Sean's high school coach, had this to say about him, "Sean is an athlete that works very hard and he excels in the classroom as well as the athletic field."

Andrew "Wil" Barlow-Men's Soccer

The Grace College men's soccer team is proud to announce the signing of Andrew Barlow of Waverly High School in Waverly, Ohio. Andrew was a four year player for his high school team and selected as a 1st Team All-District as well as a 1st Team All-SOC during the 2007 season. Barlow led his team in goals and assists as well as being the team MVP. He plans on majoring in Business and Sport Management and is an active member in his youth group, Rotary and the Leo Club. When asked why he selected Grace College Andrew said, "It has a very close-knit family feeling to it and I like the atmosphere of Godly morals and values."


Jamie Westness-Women's Basketball
March 17, 2008


Jamie Westness has signed an NAIA letter of intent to play basketball for the Grace College Lady Lancers. Westness played at Whitko High School and was a four year varsity letter winner. The 5'11" forward helped lead her team to the school's first TRC Championship and a school record in wins with 17 her senior year. She holds nineteen individual records and was a Nancy Rehm All-Star Nominee. Jamie will major in Elementary Education and is excited to join the Lady Lancers and make an impact for head coach Scott Blum.

"Jamie is going to bring a lot of athletic talent to our program next season," said Coach Blum. "She will be able to play the small forward position with her ability to guard both a post player and a wing player. She has tremendous ability to get her hands on the basketball at the defensive end and has the ability to become a very good scorer at this level. We are excited and feel very blessed to have her in our program."


Jenessa Jergensen-Women's Tennis

The Grace College women's tennis program is excited to announce the signing of Jenessa Jergensen from Johnsburg High School. Jenessa is a three year varsity player for both tennis and track while playing both #1 doubles and #2 singles at Johnsburg H.S. in Illinois. She was an honorary captain, team MVP, two time state qualifier and holds the record for most wins in a season. Jenessa plans on majoring in Business Administration and Marketing when she begins class next fall.

"I chose Grace because it has an excellent educational program and the Christian atmosphere is what I wanted," said Jenessa about selecting Grace. Richard Bailey coached Jenessa in high school and thinks her success will continue.

"She was one of the most successful players I have had the pleasure to coach," said Bailey. "In three seasons on varsity she compiled a combined record of 71-12 which is just outstanding."

Danae Walker-Women's Soccer

Walker will graduate from Homestead High School in Fort Wayne, IN this spring and join the women's soccer program in the summer. Danae played for Citadel during her club soccer involvement.

"Danae is an excellent addition to our Grace College soccer family," said head coach Michael Voss. "She has poise and control carrying the ball out of the back and is a tenacious defender."


Lance Cartmell-Men's Soccer
February 20, 2008

Lance Cartmell has selected Grace College to continue his soccer career. Lance will graduate from Emmanuel Christian Academy this Spring and comes to Grace intending to major in Biblical Studies. Cartmell was a team captain and all-county member and a 4-year varsity player with an undefeated season in 2007. He is a member of student government, Thursday morning devotions leader along with a 2006 OHSAA Leadership Conference member.

"I selected Grace College because it provides me with exactly what I was looking for to grow spiritually and prepare me for the ministry," Lance said. "I hope to be the best spiritual, physical, and mental example on and off the field for my teammates."


Brad Goshen-Men's Tennis

During his high school career Brad played #2 and #3 singles while recording a 14-7 during his senior year. Goshen also is involved in a leadership role at his school.

Kelli Hamstra-Women's Tennis

Kelli Hamstra from Covenant Christian High School/Kankakee Valley High School has informed Grace College of her intentions of continuing her tennis career as a Lancer. As a freshman Kelli played #3 singles and moved to #1 singles during both her sophomore and junior seasons.

"I wanted a Christian education and both my older brothers attended Grace and they really enjoyed their time," said Kelli.

Some accomplishments Hamstra has received are: Rookie of the Year, MVP, 1st team All-Conference, 2nd team All-Conference, Athlete of the Week and Honor Roll.


Baseball Signs Three
January 21, 2008

Above: Reagan Eakins signs a letter of intent to play baseball for the Lancers. Reagan currently plays baseball at Seymour High School (Seymour, IN) and has played both baseball and basketball the past three seasons.

When asked about why Reagan decided to pursue baseball at Grace he said, "Grace has a great atmosphere and it is a place to get a good education in a Christian environment." Reagan intends on majoring in Secondary Education. Seymour Head Baseball Coach Bob Bowman said, "Reagan has been a very hard working student athlete over the past three years. He can play whatever position we need him to and has excelled at both catching and 2nd base."

Reagan will be joining his older brother Ryan who is a member of both the baseball and basketball teams.


Above: Jake Fitzgerald signs a letter of intent to play baseball for Grace College. Jake is from New Palestine High School (New Palestine, IN) where he has played catcher for the Dragons. Fitzgerald will be an Elementary Education major and also is a member of National Honor Society.

"I choose Grace because of the friendly atmosphere and the way the students talked about the school," Fitzgerald said. "My goal is to help my team win. I just want to see Grace be successful."

"I wanted to play baseball, receive a quality education and be spiritually mentored and that is what I think Grace offers," said Petry.

Josh will be majoring in Accounting and Finance. Josh plays catcher for Cougars.


Amy Messer-Women's Tennis
January 15, 2008

Amy Messer has signed a letter of intent to continue her tennis career at Grace College.

Messer was a letter winner in tennis at Wadswoth High School in Ohio for three years. She played #1 doubles and received numerous honors such as Athlete of the Week, Suburban League Honorable Mention and Medina County Honorable Mention. Amy also brings with her a solid work ethic and study habit as she was on the Honor Roll every year in school as well as in the top 12-percent in her graduating class.

"I chose Grace because of how spiritually sound the college is," Messer said. "I want to be surrounded by Christians and people of good influence and I felt Grace provided that." Women's Tennis Head Coach Deron Datzman said, "Amy has much potential to continue to improve her tennis skills with her natural ability and good work ethic. She will make a big contribution to our tennis program."

Kayla Skaggs-Women's Basketball
January 14, 2008

Kayla Skaggs has signed a NAIA letter of intent to play basketball for the Grace College Lady Lancers.

The Lapel High School forward has earned many awards during her prep career being named Indianapolis All-City honorable mention 05 and 06, IHSAA Top 100 workout 06 and 07, All-Tourney Team Madison County 06, All-Madison County Team 06-07, All-White River Conference Team 06-07 and helped led her team to 2A IHSAA State Championship in 2006-07, while at Heritage Christian High School before transferring to Lapel.

Kayla led a balanced attack for Lapel last season scoring 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists per game while shooting 52-percent from the field and 39-percent from behind the arc. To date Skaggs has scored 801 points for her career. "I like the small Christian atmosphere," Skaggs said. "The facilities are excellent and I like Coach Blum as well." Kayla will join a young nucleus when she joins the Lady Lancers next season who return eight players.



David Pollard - Men's Soccer
July 9, 2007

David Pollard signed a NAIA letter of intent to play soccer at Grace College in the fall of 2007.

Pollard was a midfielder for Fortaleza Academy and earned the Coach's Award and Christian Character award in his three seasons of soccer. Pollard was also a member of the basketball team.

He is a native of Zeeland, Michigan and plans to pursue a degree in Science or Business.

"I chose Grace College because the location is close to home, the soccer program and the professors," stated Pollard.

David is the son of Randal and Joan Pollard.





Marcella Mester - Women's Cross Country
July 9, 2007

Marcella Mester has signed a NAIA letter of intent to run cross country at Grace College.

Mester ran three years of cross county at Plymouth High School.

"Marcella was a shining star as the senior captain of the Plymouth cross country team," stated Plymouth cross country coach Mary Kerwin. "She has been a tremendous leader and motivator for her teammates and received the "Coach's Award" for her efforts."

The Canton, Michigan native chose Grace College because of the campus, te people and it is where God has led her.

At Grace, Mester plans to pursue degrees in Biblical Studies and Youth Ministries.

Marcella is the daughter of Teresa Mester.





Steven Koontz - Men's Cross Country
July 9, 2007

Steven Koontz signed a NAIA letter of intent to run cross country at Grace College in the fall of 2007.

Koontz was a two year varsity runner at Clay High School. He was co-captain his senior season.

The Mishawaka, Indiana native decided to attend Grace because of the campus visits and the overall atmosphere that Grace provides.

Koontz plans to pursue a degree in Journalism.

Steven is the son of Gary and Marie Koontz.

Abe Kane has signed a NAIA letter of intent to run cross country and track and field at Grace College in the fall of 2007.

Kane is a two-time All-State selection in cross country and was also a two-time All-Conference nominee. He was a three-time state qualifier in the 800-meter run in track and field.

"Abe is a super individual and a growing, comitted Christian young man. he is a leader and works diligently at all he does," says Jackson Christian track coach Todd Barney. " I would be proud to have him involved in any program, athletic or academic. He will make your teams better."

Kane chose Grace College because the enviornment it gives students. "The enviornment will help me grown in my walk with God. It also providesx smaller classes so I will be able to know my teachers."

Kane plans to pursue a degree in either Secondary Education, Business or Journalism.

Abe is the son of John and Sandia Kane who reside in Jackson, Michigan.





Anne Janavich - Women's Soccer

Anne Janavich has signed a NAIA letter of intent to continue her soccer career at Grace College.

Janavich has been named to the LAC All-Conference team on two occasions while also earning All-District honors in 2006. Also in 2006, Janavich was named Defensive Player of the Year.

"Anne was the backbone of our team's defense. As a captain of the team, she led both in word and deed, her work etic, determination and desire," said Kankakee Valley women's soccer coach Joyce Thomason. "Anne is a very intelligent player as she can read and anticipate the game."

Janavich plans to study Secondary Education and Youth Ministries while attending Grace.

Anne is the daughter of Zigmund and Renee Janavich.





Rochelle Hall - Women's Soccer
July 9, 2007

Rochelle Hall will continue her soccer career at Grace College after signing a NAIA letter of intent.

Hall was a three year varsity winner at Elkhart Memorial High School as a goal keeper. She was also a team captain for two years, the team's Most Valuable Player and was named to the NLC First Team. Hall also earned varsity letters in basketball and track.

"Rochelle is a devoted person, not only to soccer, but also to being the best person she can be and to living her life through God," stated Elkhart Memorial women's soccer coach Megan Woods. "She is a tremendous leader and an amazing worker."

She plans to pursue a degree in Psychology at Grace.

Rochelle is the daughter of Jeff and Bobbi Hall.






Michael Clark - Baseball
July 9, 2007

Michael Clark will continue his baseball career at Grace College after signing a NAIA letter of intent.

Clark comes to Grace as a pitcher and first baseman out of Greenfield-Central High School in Greenfield, Indiana. He was a Hoosier Diamond Pre-Season All-State Honorable Mention selection and is a two-time team captain. Clark also starred at Greenfield-Central in basketball and football. He was named Greenwood-Central Outstanding Male Athlete in 2007.

Clark plans to pursue a degree in Elementary Education while attending Grace.

"Grace offers the major that I want, a Christian enviornment and an opportunity to play baseball under a great coach," said Clark.

Michael is the son of Wayne and Amy Clark.





Curtis Bowden - Men's Cross Country / Track and Field
July 9, 2007

Curtis Bowden signed a letter of intent to continue his running career at Grace College in the fall of 2007.

He is from Fort Rucker, Alabama where he graduated high school in 2006. Bowden is transferring to Grace College following from Northwestern College.

Bowden was an Alabama state qualifier in each cross country and track. In addition, Bowden earned Second Team All-Conference honors.

While at Grace, Bowden plans to study Religion.

Curtis is the son of Barry and Melanie Bowden.






Alisha Anthony - Women's Tennis
July 9, 2007

Alisha Anthony has signed a NAIA letter of inent to continue her tennis career at Grace College.

Anthony was a two-time team Most Valuable Player and three time All-Conference player as the No. 1-singles player at Triton High School. She also earned All-Conference honors as a member of the No. 1-doubles team.

"Alisha is a competitive, hard working player who only improves with each match she plays," stated Triton High School tennis coach Amber Gibson. "She has an excellent work ethic and is not afraid to try new strategies. She will be an excellent addition to Grace College."

Anthony plans to pursue a degree in Elementary Education while at Grace.

Alisha is the daughter of Douglas and Karen Anthony who reside in Bourbon, Indiana.





Sheilagh Beauparlant - Women's Cross Country and Track and Field
June 11, 2007

Sheilagh Beauparlant signed a NAIA letter of intent to run cross country and track at Grace College beginning in the fall of 2007.

Beauparlant was a varsity runn at Gloucester High School for two years in cross county and three years in track and field while competing in the two-mile run.

"I chose to attend Grace College because the people were extremely friendly and made me feel comfortable," said Beauparlant.

She plans to pursue a degree in Biology while at Grace.

Sheilagh is from Gloucester, Massachusetts and she is the daughter of Ernie and Diane Beauparlant.





Alex Schemmer - Men's Track and Field
June 11, 2007

Alex Schemmer has signed a NAIA letter of intent to participate in track and field at Grace College.

Schemmer competes in the 800-meter run, the long jump and the triple jump. During his senior season at Pensacola Christian Academy, Schemmer was the team captain, MVP of the team and the top point scorer.

The Pensacola, Florida native also played basketball and ran cross county in high school.

Schemmer chose to attend Grace because of the Christian beliefs and it is a place he feels he could fit in. He plans to purse a major in International Business.

Alex is the son of Ron and Sue Schemmer.





Tory Sears - Men's Basketball
June 11, 2007

Tory Sears will play men's basketball at Grace College after signing a NAIA letter of intent.

Sears averaged 10.7 points and 6.2 rebounds during his junior season and 9.8 points with 7.2 rebounds during his senior season at Northfield High School. In his final high school season, Sears was named to the Wabash Plain Dealer's All-County First Team.

"I felt like I'm at home there (at Grace)," said Sears as several members of his youth group from Christian Missionary Alliance in Wabash already attend Grace. "Hopefully I can get stronger, work my way up, and show them what I've got as a player."

Tory is the son of Rob and Teresa Sears.





Stephen Copeland - Golf
June 11, 2007

Stephen Copeland has signed a NAIA national letter of intent to play gof at Grace College beginning in the fall of 2007.

Copeland is a two-time co-captain of the Plainfield High School golf team and compiled a 9-hole average of 38. He also was named the team's Mental Attitude Award winner.

"Stephen's attitude, work ethic and outstanding leadership abilities will absolutely make him an invaluable asset to Grace College on the golf team and also the campus," said Plainfield golf coach Patrick Cavanaugh.

The Clayton, Indiana native made High Honor Roll, was a member of the National Honor Society and was Editor-in-Chief of the high school paper.

While attending Grace, Copeland plans to major in Journalism.

Stephen is the son of Mark and Kim Copeland.





Natile Marlar - Volleyball

Natile Marlar has signed a NAIA letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Grace College.

Marlar is an All-League First Team libero from West Valley High School in San Jacinto, California.

In addition to being named to all-stars teams, Marlar competed on clubs teams that have competed throughout California, Nevada and Texas. When not playing volleyball, Marlar also was a valuable member of the high school wrestling team.

The Scholar Athlete intends to major in eitheri English Education or Biology while at Grace.

Morgan DiAntonio - Women's Basketball
May 31, 2007

Morgan DiAntonio signed a NAIA letter of intent to play basketball at Grace College.

The Clarkson, Michigan native earned many awards during her career at Oakland Christian High School, including being named All-Conference, All-District, All-Region and Honorable Mention All-State. Off the court, she earned honors such as high honor roll and being named to the National Honor Society.

Grace head coach Scott Blum, the girls on the basketball team and the overall experience DiAntonio had on her campus visit were the main reasons she chose to attend Grace.

At Grace, DiAntonio plans to purse a degree in Sports Management.

Morgan is the daughter of Lou and Pat DiAntonio.





Jacob Peattie - Men's Basketball
May 31, 2007

Jacob Peattie has signed a NAIA letter of intent to continue his basketball career at Grace College beginning in the 2007-08 season.

Peattie is a native of Logansport, Indiana and played fof Al Rhodes at Logansport High School. During his career at Logansport, Peattie earned Academic All-State Honorable Mention twice, the Don McArnes Mental Attitude Award, the Jim Ridenour Mental Attitude Award and the highest field goal percentage during his senior season. In addition, Peattie was a National Honor Society member, a Distinguished Scholar and Homecoming King.

"It's a good Christian school and close to home," Peattie said about attending Grace. "I have family in Warsaw and I like the small college atmosphere that Grace presents."

While at Grace, Peattie plans to purse a degree in Physical Education.

Jacob is the son of Bob and Connie Peattie.





Scot Wilder - Men's Tennis

Scot Wilder has signed a NAIA letter of intent to continue his tennis career at Grace College in the fall of 2007.

Wilder is from Weeatfield, Indiana where he attended Kankakee Valley High School.

While competing in tennis at Kankakee Valley, Wilder earned honors such as Second Team All-Conference, Academic All-State and Kankakee Valley's Most Dedicated. Wilder also participated in basketball and soccer while in high school.

"Scot brings a lot to the table as both a student and an athlete. He was an Academic All-State selection as well as a great athlete on the tennis court," said Kankakee Valley head tennis coach Dan Roberts.

Wilder chose Grace College due to the community based atmosphere and commitment to a Christian education. He plans to pursue a Biology degree while attending Grace.

Scot is the son of Wayne and Wendy Wilder.





Sarah Gregory - Women's Soccer

Sarah Gregory will continue her soccer career at Grace College after signing a NAIA letter of intent.

Gregory attended Penncrest High School in Guys Mills, Pennsylvanvia. While at Penncrest, Gregory earned three varsity letters while playing in the backfield. She was also the team captain during her senior season of play.

Gregory chose to attend Grace because it is a Christian school with a social work program as that is her intended major of study.

Sarah is the daughter of Dennis and Shirley Gregory.





Jordan Sharp - Men's Soccer
May 11, 2007

Jordan Sharp has signed a NAIA letter of intent to continue his soccer career at Grace College beginning in the fall of 2007.

Sharp was named to the NLC All-Conference team and has helped lead Warsaw's rise to prominence in the state of Indiana. As a four-year varsity letterman, Sharp was a part of the Tigers impressive four year run with a record of 62-10-8.

"Jordan was a key ingredient to our team winning the first two conference championships in school history," said Warsaw head coach Scott Bauer. "He is a tenacious defender with a wonderful quick first step. Jordan is a charismatic young man and I am excited for him to continue his playing career at Grace College."

While attending Grace, Sharp plans to major in Education and Sports Management.

Sharp said being able to play soccer where many of his friends go while also being close to home is why he chose to attend Grace.

Jordan is the son of Mark and Kelly Sharp.





Jonathan Burfoft - Men's Soccer
May 11, 2007


The Grace College men's soccer team has signed Lake Christian standout Jonathan Burtoft to a NAIA letter of intent.

Burtoft is a four year member of the Lake Christian soccer team and was named to the All-Conference Second Team as a defender.The Warsaw native plans to major in Youth Ministries and Business while attending Grace.

"We are pleased that Johnny has chosen Grace College for the fall," stated Grace head coach Roy Danielian. "He was a team captain at Lakeland Christian and was a team leader on defense."

Grace College topped Burtoft's lists because it is affiliated with Grace Brethren and is close to home.

Jonathan is the son of John and Cheryl Burtoft.





David Henry - Men's Basketball
May 7, 2007

David Henry will continue his basketball career at Grace College.

Henry is a three-year letter winner at Bethesda Christian High School. During his senior season, Henry averaged 13.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 8.1 assists in leading Bethesda Christian to a 20-5 record.

In 2006-07, Henry was named to the All-County (Hendricks) First Team and the All-West Indianapolis Metro Area Second Team. Henry tied for the most assists per game in the Indianapolis Metro Area.

Herny also lettered four years in baseball as a catcher.

In high school, Henry accumulated a 4.0 gpa and plans to major in Biology while attending Grace.

Henry chose Grace for the opportunity to learn basketball from a strong returning team and a great coaching staff. He is excited about playing in the new Ortopaedic Capital Center and learning from the strong science department. Henry would like to make a difference for Christ through basketball.
