Morgan Michalski - Men's Basketball
May 17, 2010

Grace’s men’s basketball team signed another component for their 2010-11 campaign in Xenia High School’s Morgan Michalski.

“The Lord showed me that Grace was a school that I could grow as a student, athlete and follower of Christ,” Morgan said. “I want to be the best player that I can be, and be an encourager to the team. I look forward to playing with them.”

Morgan is a three-year varsity award winner, a scholar athlete, and he helped his team earn the GWOC South Conference title in 2010.

Morgan is an excellent shooter,” said Xenia head coach Kent Anderson. “He utilizes screens extremely well. Most of all, he is a great competitor and teammate. He will be a tremendous asset for the Grace community.”

At Xenia, Morgan earned the Sportsmanship Award during his senior year. He was also the president of Student Council and a National Honor Society member.

He plans on studying International Business or History at Grace.

Morgan is the son of Morris and Kelly Michalski.

Jack Wang - Men's Tennis

Mountain View High School’s Jack Wang signed a letter of intent to play tennis at Grace College.

“I was amazed at how comfortable I felt after visiting and was also impressed with how everything was set up at the college,” Jack said. “I was impressed with the men’s tennis program and want to be part of the great tradition they are building.”

The Vancouver, Wash., native was a standout player on a local and statewide level during his high school career. He qualified for Washington’s State Championships (2008, 2009), was the district champion in doubles (2008, 2009), was named First Team All-League Doubles (2008, 2009) and was a doubles champion at the Olympia Varsity Tournament (2008, 2009). 

He was a four-year varsity singles and doubles player at Mountain View, and he was the Coach’s Award Winner in 2007 and 2009.

“I am very happy for Jack,” said Mountain View head coach Matt Clark. “He has been a tremendous asset to our program for four years and to see him get to continue his tennis career in college is great. He will make a great addition to Grace College as a tennis player and student.”

At Grace, Jack plans on majoring in graphic design. He is the son of Feng-o and Yau-Bin Wang.

Jared Treadway - Men's Basketball

Jared Treadway has signed his NAIA Letter of Intent to play men’s basketball at Grace College.

The Kokomo, Ind., native is a 6 foot 7 inch postman from Northwestern High School, achieving First Team All-Area and All-Conference awards. As a senior he averaged 18.8 ppg and 7.4 rpg while shooting 72.4 percent from the field.

“I chose Grace College because it showed that it develops students into God-fearing men and women,” Jared said. “I’m excited to become a Lancer and to develop into the best athlete I can be.”

Jared has been involved with the National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes while at Northwestern. He plans on majoring in Education while at Grace.

“Treadway will add a lot of strength and depth to our team,” said Grace head coach Jim Kessler. “He’s very much a team player. He has tremendous upside and will be a great fit here at Grace.”

Jared is the son of Keith and Dawn.

Angela Burrell - Women's Basketball

Grace College’s women’s basketball team has signed its first recruit of the year in junior college transfer Angela Burrell.

Angela, a native of Detroit, Mich., spent the past two years at Schoolcraft College in Livonia, Mich. The 5 foot 4 inch point guard won All-Region, All-MCCAA and First Team All-Conference awards after averaging 11.5 ppg, 6.2 apg and 2.5 spg last season.

“I chose Grace because it has solid academic and athletic programs,” Angela said. “I am looking forward to pushing myself in my career and on the basketball court.”

She helped lead Schoolcraft to a 33-2 overall record and a third-place finish in the NJCAA Division II National Championship. Last year, she started on the national champion runner-up team at Schoolcraft. During her two-year career, Schoolcraft had a 65-5 record.

“Angela may be one of the best recruits to step into a Lady Lancer uniform,” said Grace head coach Scott Blum. “She brings experience and a winning attitude to our program. Her court vision and scoring ability will mesh with our returning core to help us improve next year.”

Angela played high school basketball at Northwestern High School. She won First Team All-City honors and All-State honorable mention and led her squad to the city championship as a sophomore.

“Grace has really found a special person and player in Angela,” said Northwestern head coach Orlando Watkins. “She is a complete player who understands the game and plays it well.”

Angela plans on majoring in Special Education while at Grace. She is the daughter of Lois Burrell.

Mallori Kastner - Volleyball

Grace's volleyball team signed Mallori Kastner, a 2010 Wabash High School graduate and statewide volleyball standout.

Standing at 6 foot, Mallori was a middle hitter and a four-year player for Wabash. She was an Indiana North Volleyball All-Star (2009) and Wabash High School MVP (2009). She was named to the All-State 2nd Team (2009), Three Rivers Conference (TRC) 1st Team (2009), Wabash County 1st Team (2009), Wabash County 2nd Team (2008) and was a TRC Honorable Mention (2007, 2008). She led the TRC in attacks in 2009 with 379 kills and was at the top of the TRC in blocking in 2008 and 2009.

"Over the past four years, Mallori has been a core contributor to the success of our team," said Wabash head coach Amy Degitz. "She is recognized by her opponents as a competitor and by her teammates as a leader. Her impressive list of achievements at the local and state levels reflect her work ethic, dedication and love for the game. Our coaching staff and Mallori's teammates at Wabash look forward to seeing her success continue at Grace College next year and in the years to come."

Along with her success on the volleyball floor, she also played basketball and ran track for four years. On the hardwood, she was a TRC All-Conference Team Honorable Mention (2009), and she broke the school record for blocked shots in a single season. In track, she participated in the high jump and the long jump.

"I chose Grace because I really liked the campus, the Christian values, the volleyball team and the program," Mallori said. "I want to be a key player for Grace volleyball and help the team succeed."

At Grace, Mallori plans on majoring in biology. She is the daughter of Shelly Baucco and Rob Kastner.

Travis Jones - Baseball

Grace's baseball team signed Travis Jones out of Sunnyside High School in Grandview, Wash.

Travis was a four-year lettermen for Sunnyside and a two-year team captain. He stands at 5 foot 10 inches tall and played catcher, infield and outfield. He was also a varsity midfielder for one year on the soccer field.

"I have coached Travis for three out of the four years that he has played at Sunnyside High School," said his high school head coach Terry Shines. "Travis has played a number of positions for me and had played them very well. With that, one may say he is a utility player. Travis a great student and is a hard worker both on and off the field."

At Sunnyside, Travis made Honor Roll twice, was a two-time Student of the Month in science, was a three-time Student of the Month in agriculture and holds a 3.733 GPA. He plans on majoring in Sport Management.

"Christ comes first at Grace," Travis said. "Most of my family went to Grace and loved it, and I want to help the Grace baseball team build their program."

Travis is the son of Rodney and Rebekah Jones.

Jacob Goodman - Men's Basketball

Grace's men's basketball team signed Rensselaer Central High School's Jacob Goodman for their 2010-11 season.

"I chose Grace because the institution has a desire to teach and guide students through the word of God," Jacob said. "I hope to earn playing time on the varsity team."

Jacob is a 6 foot 1 inch shooting guard that averaged 13.7 ppg, 3.14 rpg, 2.82 apg and 1.18 spg during his senior year at Rensselaer. He played varsity basketball for four years and earned All-Conference, All-Area and Team-MVP awards during his final season. He also played linebacker his freshman year for the football team.

"Jacob is a quality student-athlete that will be a great fit for Grace," said Rensselaer Central head coach Kevin Sims. "He is a classic Indiana high school shooter that has continued to get better as a complete player every day."

At Grace, Jacob plans on majoring in business. He is the son of Tim and Tracy Goodman.

Michael Moreno - Baseball

Grace's baseball team signed Michael Moreno, a prospect from Eastern High School in Greentown, Ind.

"Financially, it made the most sense. The location was great for my family, and the atmosphere of the school is what I'm looking for," Michael said. "I want to help the team any way I can and become a major addition to the team in a leadership and offensive aspect."

Michael is a four-year player at Eastern High and plays outfield, pitcher and catcher. He was named 1st Team MIC All-Conference in 2008 and 2009 and is a two-time Howard County All-Star. He was also the Team MVP in 2008 and earned the Hitting Award two years in a row for his team (2007 and 2008).

"Michael is one of the hardest working players that I have coached in all of my years involved with baseball," said Eastern High head coach Steve Swinson. "As good as a baseball player that Michael is, I believe that he is even a better individual all around. He is usually the first in and last out at practice and is always working to get better."

At Grace, Michael plans on majoring in business. He is the son of Pete and Deanna Moreno.

Beth Kuhl - Women's Soccer

Grace's women's soccer team signed another component for their 2010 campaign in Saline's Beth Kuhl.

"I chose Grace because I felt like this is the place God wants me to be," Beth said. "I just want to glorify God with my playing, become a better player and have fun helping Grace build their program."

Beth plans on majoring in youth ministry. She is the daughter of Dave and Diana, and they reside in Saline, Mich.

"Grace is excited to welcome Beth," said Grace head coach Michael Voss. "She is a good fit in the family of Grace, and I am so excited to see Beth grow academically, spiritually and in her soccer."

Holly Bennett - Women's Soccer

Grace’s women’s soccer team picked up another big recruit for 2011 in Morton High School’s Holly Bennett.

“I chose Grace College because of the overall atmosphere and the attitude on campus,” Holly said. “They care about you not only as a soccer player but also as a person. You can just tell this college loves Jesus.”

Holly is a three-year varsity starter at Morton and tallied 23 goals and 13 assists during her sophomore year. She was also named to the All-Sectional team and Quincy All-Tournament team. She is 5-foot-8 and will graduate in 2011.

“Holly is the epitome of the complete student-athlete,” said Morton head coach Brian Deters. “She is not only one of the most talented soccer players to play in the Morton High School soccer program, but she’s also one of the most hard-working, dedicated, and focused athletes to come through here.”

At Morton, Holly is a High Honor roll student, a National Honors Society Member, and an ACE Award winner. She plans on majoring in youth ministry upon her arrival at Grace.

“It has been so exciting to see Holly’s joy and commitment to walking God’s trail,” said Grace head coach Michael Voss. “She demonstrates a life that is passionate in both making Christ known and ‘balling it up’ to the glory of God. The family of Grace is thrilled to welcome Holly on the next part of her journey with Jesus.”

Holly is the daughter of Steve and Melody Bennett. They reside in Peoria, Ill.

Amy Hucker - Softball
April 22, 2010

Grace's softball program continues its aggressive recruiting season in landing LaCrosse High School's Amy Hucker.

Amy is a pitcher for LaCrosse, having been an All-Conference selection as a junior. She has been the top pitcher on her team for three years, entering her senior season. Last season, she led LaCrosse to the program's first sectional crown. She threw every game for the Lady Tigers and also batted .326 on the year.

"Amy is one of the best athletes I have had the pleasure of coaching," said LaCrosse head coach David Amor. "She is the primary reason we attained the program's first winning season and our first sectional championship last year. Amy not only strives for athletic excellence but has the same attitude in her academics. Grace College is getting an excellent addition to their campus."

Amy was a member of the National Honor Society and the Hoosier Girls State program. While at Grace, she plans on majoring in Elementary Education.

"I chose Grace largely because of the Red and White Day recently," Amy said. "I was really impressed with everything about Grace Athletics, and I'm excited to join Coach Johnson's program."

Amy is the daughter of Mike and Laura Hucker.

Benjamin Bassous - Men's Soccer

Grace's men's soccer team has signed a standout player from Camp Verde, Ariz., in Benjamin Bassous.

Benjamin is a four-year player from Camp Verde High School. Last season, he was named First Team All-State as well as Region MVP. As a junior, he was a First Team All-Region selection. He also was an honorable mention for the All-Region Team his freshman and sophomore years as a defender and striker.

"I chose Grace because of the people, especially the coaches and the players," Benjamin said. "I am excited to use my abilities in a new setting."

Benjamin plans to major in Education and Business. He was a National Honor Society inductee and a member of the honor roll throughout high school. In January, he was named the Rotary Student of the Month.

"Ben has been an extremely coachable and self-motivation student for me the past four seasons," said Camp Verde head coach Dave Miller. "His leadership and outstanding play on the field was a tremendous asset to our team."

Benjamin is the son of John and Mary Bassous.

Dylan Martin - Baseball
April 19, 2010

Grace's baseball team signed Borden High School's Dylan Martin for the 2011 season.

Dylan is a four-year player and three-year team captain for the Braves. At Borden, he was named All-Conference twice, MVP twice and was the team's RBI and home run leader. He was also a three-sport athlete for the majority of his high school career, playing tennis (four years) and basketball (three years).

"I loved the atmosphere, players and staff," Dylan said. "It was a perfect match for me. I knew it was where I wanted to be after my first visit on campus. I want to be a leader, role model and help the team in every way that I can."

At Grace, Dylan hopes to major in Elementary Education and maintain a 3.0 GPA in college. He was the class president at Borden.

"We are very excited to have Dylan come to Grace," said head coach Josh Bailey. "He is a great picture of a student-athlete and will contribute a lot to this campus and student body."

Dylan is the son of Cara and David Martin, and they reside in Borden, Ind.

Michael Humphrey - Men's Basketball

Grace College's men's basketball team signed one of central Indiana's top point guards in Danville High School's Michael Humphrey.

"I visited the campus last year during spring break, and after talking to an advisor, the coaches and a teacher, it felt like a perfect fit," Michael said. "I want to continue to place emphasis on academic excellence and strive to receive good grades. I want to be a Lancer and help the team anyway I can."

Michael is a 5 foot 9 inch point guard who averaged 8.6 ppg for the Warriors and shot 53 percent from the floor. He helped lead Danville to a 25-2 overall record along with county, sectional and regional titles during his senior season. He earned First Team All-Conference honors two times (2009, 2010), Second Team All-County honors twice (2009, 2010) and was named to the Second Team All-West during his senior year.

He was also an exemplary three-year tennis player at Danville at No. 1 singles, earning First Team All-Conference accolades during his junior and senior seasons.

Academically, Michael was Danville's salutatorian and was named the Best Math Student and Best Chemistry Student in 2008 and Best History Student and Best Spanish Student in 2009.

"Michael is a quality student-athlete who played on a great high school basketball team," said Grace College head coach Jim Kessler. "He has a heart for God, and he is just a quality person -- the kind of guy you want to build your life into. He will make a great contribution to this campus in a number of ways."

At Grace, Michael plans on majoring in accounting and management. He is the son of Bo and Rachelle Humphrey.

Aaron Blevins - Men's Tennis

Grace College's men's tennis program signed a key player in Aaron Blevins, a 6 foot 3 inch star from Mountain View High School in Vancouver, Wash.

Aaron earned First Team All-League honors three times, was named to the All-Region Team two times and qualified for Washington's state tournament his sophomore year. He was a four-year player at Mountain View.

"We are very excited to have Aaron join our young, talented tennis team," said Grace College head coach Larry Schuh. "We feel that Aaron brings the experience and talent that will help lead Grace to a conference title and to the NAIA national tournament."

At Grace, Aaron hopes to earn a degree in Science and graduate with a 3.5 GPA. He was on the Honor Roll at Mountain View.

"I chose Grace because it's a great Christian College -- my whole family went there and my brother (Michael) currently goes there," Aaron said. "I want to win conference both as a team and individual and qualify for nationals."

Aaron is the son of Gary and Rene Blevins.

Stephanie Perik - Softball

Grace College's softball team added another component for next year's campaign in Aurora Christian High School's Stephanie Perik.

"I chose Grace College because I really felt the Lord leading me there," Stephanie said. "I also loved the campus and the softball team. I want to grow to be the best I can be on and off the field, using my talents as a testimony."

Stephanie played shortstop and second base for four years at Aurora. She had a .370 batting average, earned Player of the Game four times and was also named Most Improved Veteran.

"Steph is a hard worker and has improved greatly each year," said Aurora head coach Mike Morris. "Last year, she stepped up to make great contributions both on offense and defense. She has become a leader on and off the field."

At Grace, Stephanie plans on majoring in Elementary Education with the dream of becoming a teacher for under-privileged or inner-city kids.

She is the daughter of Michael and Trudy Perik. They reside in Batavia, Ill.

Kaitlan Wiles - Women's Soccer

Grace College's women's soccer program has landed one of central Indiana's best players for the 2011-12 season in Kaitlan Wiles.

Kaitlan has been a three-year starter for Pendleton Heights High School. As a freshman, she led all freshmen in the IHSAA with 12 goals and three assists. As a sophomore, she was among the Indianapolis Metro Area leaders with 21 goals and eight assists, leading her team in scoring. She has won All-Conference and All-District honors as an Arabian.

“I felt Grace College was a great fit for my personality,” Kaitlan said. “I was very impressed with the coach and the team. They are great people both on and off the field.”

Outside of her high school team, Kaitlan has excelled as a member of the Carmel United Soccer Club. Her club team won state championships in 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2008 and was a state semi-finalist in 2009. She was also a national runner-up in a 3v3 tournament.

"I have been so encouraged in the Lord by Kaitlan. Her spiritual maturity, professionalism and depth of character combined with a passion to ‘ball it up’ for God’s glory is fantastic,” said Grace head coach Michael Voss. “The family of Grace is excited to welcome her into the next phase of her journey with the Lord.”

Kaitlan, who will graduate high school in 2011, is a member of the National Honor Society and is currently in the top six percent of her class academically. While at Grace, Kaitlan intends to major in Pre-Med.

“I am pursuing a dream come true to play soccer in college,” Kaitlan continued. “I am looking forward to using my athletic talents to share my faith. I am excited and proud to be a Lady Lancer!”

Kaitlan is the daughter of Tom and Mandy Wiles.

Bruce Grimm - Men's Basketball

2009 Indiana Mr. Basketball runner-up Bruce Grimm, Jr., has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Grace College after transferring from NCAA Div. I East Tennessee State University.

Grimm will have three years of eligibility to play for the Lancers, who are coming off back-to-back trips to the NAIA National Tournament in 2008 and 2009 and an appearance in the NCCAA National Tournament in March 2010.

“I am excited about joining the basketball family at Grace College,” Grimm said. “I look forward to getting my major in Education and learning more about God.”

Grimm had a standout high school career at Rochester High School in Rochester, Ind., before signing with East Tennessee State University. He is the all-time leading scorer at Rochester. He was also a 2009 Indiana All-Star, a three-time First Team All-Three Rivers Conference player and the Hickory Husker Player of the Year and the Burger King Player of the Year in 2009.

At East Tennessee State, Grimm started five games on a team that won the Atlantic Sun Conference. They advanced to the NCAA Tournament, losing in the first round to the University of Kentucky.

“Bruce is a tremendous player and a quality young man,” said Grace head coach Jim Kessler. “He has many individual accolades but wants to be a part of our program. Everywhere Bruce has been, he has had success, and we look forward to him joining our family at Grace.”

Grimm also set a state finals record with eight three-pointers in an 81-79 double overtime loss to top-ranked and unbeaten Princeton High School at Conseco Fieldhouse. For the game, he scored a total of 40 points. Grimm hit three 3’s in the final 1:04 of regulation, including a game-tying shot with one second left to send the game into overtime. For many media outlets, it was a performance that will go down in history in Indiana high school basketball.

As a result, he was named the 2009 Indiana State Tournament MVP by The Associated Press. He shot 76 percent from the foul line and 36 percent from the three-point line for the year. He also averaged 26.9 points, 5.8 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 3.8 steals a game his senior year.

“We are very excited to have Bruce join our family at Grace College and look forward to the impact he will have not only on our basketball program but also on our campus and community,” said Grace athletic director Chad Briscoe.

Grimm will join Grace’s incoming recruits, which includes Three Rivers Conference Player of the Year Greg Miller from North Miami High School, 6’11” Dennis Williams from Jamaica and 6’11” Adrian Makolli from Lakeland Christian Academy.

“You land a player of his caliber in the Mid-Central College Conference, and he has an immediate impact,” Kessler continued. “We look forward to that impact for the next three years, both on and off the court.”

Tiffany Featherston - Softball

Grace College's softball team added another recruit in Anderson High School standout Tiffany Featherston.

Tiffany has been a four-year starter for Anderson. She was also named co-captain for her senior season. She plans on majoring in Graphic Design.

"Grace College had everything I wanted in a college," Tiffany said. "I felt like I was at home when I came to visit. My goal is to become a better player and to give it my all on the field."

Tiffany is the daughter of Larry and Darlene Featherston.

Alexis DeVido - Softball

Grace College's softball program has signed Bishop Luers's standout Alexis DeVido to play for the Lady Lancers next spring.

Alexis has played infield for four years for Bishop Luers High School. She intends to major in Psychology and Criminal Justice while at Grace.

"I chose Grace because they are a Christian-based school with excellent athletic programs," Alexis said. "I'm willing to do whatever the team needs me to do to be successful."

Alexis is the daughter of Tony and Shawn DeVido.

Jordan McKinley - Softball
March 30, 2010

Grace College's softball team signed another recruit for its 2011 campaign in Churubusco, Ind., native Jordan McKinley.

Jordan was a four-year member of Carroll High School's varsity softball team, racking up team and state honors. She led her team last year in doubles, triples and stolen bases. Her batting average and doubles total led the area.

"I loved the Christian atmosphere and the community aspect of Grace College," Jordan said. "I am excited to join the team and become a better player under Coach (Heather) Johnson."

Jordan plans on majoring in Criminal Justice while at Grace.

She is the daughter of Rob and Carol Bufkin.

Jalisa Thayer - Women's Soccer

Grace's women's soccer team signed another piece to its puzzle in Jalisa Thayer. Jalisa is defender from Faith Heritage School in Syracuse, N.Y. During her four-year career, she was named First Team in her league and All-Section twice.

"Jalisa has been a positive leader on and off the field, in both actions and words," said Faith's head coach Larry Cathcart. "She is an excellent soccer player who will be a great representative for Grace College."

Jalisa also played volleyball and ran track at Faith, winning All-League awards in both sports. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and was the class vice president three times. While at Grace, she intends on majoring in Pre-Physical Therapy and Psychology.

"I knew Grace was the college as soon as I visited," Jalisa said. "It has a Godly atmosphere both on the soccer team and in the community. I'm excited to become a leader and to play to the best of my ability while maintaining the fun of the team."

Jalisa is the daughter of Roger and Brenda Thayer.

John Nuppnau - Baseball

Grace College's baseball program landed another recruit in Valparaiso's John Nuppnau.

"John comes from a great baseball program at Valparaiso," said Grace baseball coach Josh Bailey. "He is a tremendous athlete with a lot of potential. He is also a strong student that takes academics seriously. He will impact our program immediately.” 

John is a senior first basemen for Valparaiso. He is a two-year letter winner in baseball and football (wide receiver). He was also First Team Academic All-State in football.

"I chose Grace because of the small Christian campus," John said. "I also am looking forward to the opportunity to play baseball collegiately at Grace."

He is a member of the National Honor Society and looks to continue success in the classroom. One of his goals as a Lancer is to maintain a 3.5 GPA.

John is the son of Mike and Willa Nuppnau.

Cameron Spitaels - Baseball

Grace College's baseball program signed Nappanee's Cameron Spitaels, a NorthWood High School outfielder.

"He has a tremendous work ethic and has developed into a very good high school player," said NorthWood head coach Nick Davis. "Cam's best days of baseball are ahead of him. He will be a great addition to the Grace baseball program."

Cameron is a three-year lettermen in both baseball and football at NorthWood. He received Batting Champion and Most Improved accolades in baseball and is a four-year Scholar-Athlete. He also made the Honor Roll and is a member of the National Honor Society.

"I chose Grace because it has a great campus, great people, and I want to play baseball," Cameron said. "I want to be the best I can be for my team."

He is the son of Randy and Annette Spitaels.

Allyssa Johnson - Volleyball

Grace College's women's volleyball program signed another component for the 2010 season in Fort Wayne's Allyssa Johnson.

Allyssa played four years of volleyball at Heritage High School. During her senior season, Heritage's team captain was named ACAC All-Conference 1st Team, All-Northeast Indiana Honorable Mention, Utility Player of the Year and ACAC All-Academics. She was also named Defensive Player of the Year during her junior season.

"Allyssa will be a great asset for Grace's volleyball team," said Heritage head coach Stephen Walter. "Her many positives attributes, along with her dedication to friends, family and the Lord will guide her as a student-athlete."

At Heritage, Allyssa was also part of the National Honor Society and received Perfect Attendance and Principal's List honors. She plans on majoring in Biology and Health Sciences at Grace with hopes of becoming a chiropractor.

The Grace College baseball program has signed Brett Houlihan, a Triton High School standout.

"I love the small-campus atmosphere that Grace provides," Brett said. "I am looking forward to joining the program and enjoying my new teammates."

Brett is a pitcher for Triton where he has won All-Conference honorable mention awards twice. While at Grace, Brett plans on majoring in Sports Management and Communications.

“Brett is a highly competitive, successful athlete that will make our program better," said Grace College head coach Josh Bailey. "He is willing to put in the hard work necessary to impact our team and our campus in a meaningful way."

Cameron Campbell - Baseball

Grace College's baseball team has added Southwood High School's Cameron Campbell to its roster for the 2011 season.

Cameron is a four-year catcher for Southwood, winning All-Conference honors in 2008 and 2009. He also won the RBI Award, Best Hitter Award and Team MVP last season. Cameron played football for Southwood, as well, where he was named Class A First Team All-State by the Associated Press.

"I chose Grace because it was the perfect fit," Cameron said. "I love the coaching staff, the players, and the atmosphere at Grace."

Cameron has been involved in various activities at Southwood, including student body president and being a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the class cabinet. Cameron plans on majoring in Social Studies Education while at Grace.

"I want to come in as a freshman and simply bring a spark to the program," Cameron said. "I hope to eventually help Grace become the powerhouse in the Mid-Central College Conference."

Cameron is the son of Curt and Pat Campbell.

Todd DeLange - Men's Soccer

Grace College's men's soccer team signed Todd DeLange, a transfer from Michigan State and a Lapeer West High School standout.

Todd played soccer for four years at Lapeer West. During his senior season, he was Third Team All-State, All-Regional, All-District and First Team All-Conference. He also tallied 14 goals and four assists.

"I chose Grace because the focus of the coaches, school, teachers and the team was exactly what I wanted," Todd said. "I want to use the ability God has given me and take that as far as he will allow me to."

He participated in the long jump and triple jump on Michigan State's track and field team and played basketball and football in high school.

Todd is the son of Edwin and Mickey DeLange.

Asher Bontreger - Men's Soccer

Grace College's men's soccer team signed another component for their 2010 campaign in Rensselaer's Asher Bontreger.

Asher is a transfer from St. Joseph's College and will play defender for the Lancers next season. At St. Joseph's, Asher was a Great Lakes Valley Conference Academic All-American and the Alpha Lambda Delta National Freshman Honor Society President.

"I believe that Grace offers a challenging curriculum that will help me achieve my career goals," Asher said. "I think Grace has a solid team, and we will be very competitive in the MCC this next season."

At Grace, Asher will be triple majoring in business, marketing and public relations. He hopes to graduate with a 3.9 grade point average and pursue his master's degree after graduation.

Asher is the son of Rein and Suzie Bontreger.

Marena Lodzinski - Cross Country/Track and Field

The Grace College cross country and track and field teams landed its first recruit for next year in Marena Lodzinski.

Marena is a senior at Addison High School in Cement City, Mich. She has run cross country and track for Addison throughout her high school career, winning awards like All-County Team and All-Conference Honorable Mention.

"I chose Grace College because the school cares for the whole person -- academically, spiritually and athletically," Marena said. "I hope to help the team out the best that I can and to improve my times, as well."

She intends to major in Graphic Design. She is the daughter of Mike and Beth Lodzinski.

Kent Judy - Baseball

The Grace College baseball team signed another recruit for 2011 in Kent Judy of Greenfield, Ind. Kent was home schooled and was a pitcher and center fielder for the Indianapolis Kings.

"He is a leader on the team," said Indianapolis Kings head coach Steve Marlow. "He loves to be aggressive and is the guy who sparks and ignites the team. He is the guy I want on the mound when the game is on the line."

Kent played four years of baseball and four years of basketball in high school. He earned the Junior Varsity Golden Glove Award in baseball and received Junior Varsity Defensive Player, Junior Varsity MVP and Varsity Most Improved honors on the hardwood.

"I chose Grace because it claimed the name of Christ, had a graphic design program and allowed me to play baseball," Kent said. "I want to strive to manage and a 3.5 GPA or above while playing baseball. My goal is to glorify God in the talent he has given me."

Jordan Eberly - Men's Soccer

Grace's men's soccer team signed its first recruit for their 2010 campaign in Fort Wayne's Jordan Eberly.

"Jordan is a natural leader who earned the respect of both his coaches and teammates," said Fort Wayne Fusion head coach Mark Baker. "Jordan is an exciting and dynamic left-footed player who has a nose for the goal. He has a bright future, and he brings something special to any team he plays for."

Jordan was homeschooled and was a four-year starter on the Fort Wayne Fusion. He tallied 40 goals and 15 assists during his senior year and led his team to a 21-5-2 record. During his junior year, he added 27 goals to go along with nine assists. He was selected to the All-Tournament Team at the Home School Soccer Championship in 2008 and 2009.

"I chose Grace because I like the school and what they stand for," Jordan said. "I also really like the coaching staff and the team. I want to bring whatever I can to help the team, while improving my personal skills."

Jordan plans on studying Sports Management at Grace. He is the son of Bruce and Cynthia Eberly.

The Grace College baseball team has signed Livonia Churchill High School's Steven Hovermale to its roster for next season.

Steven has played pitcher, first base and outfield for Livonia Churchill for the past two years and was a member of a team that won city champs.

"I chose Grace College because of the terrific atmosphere with everyone committed to their faith," Steven said. "I want to help make Grace a contender for a title every year."

While at Grace, Steven plans to major in Sports Management.

"He is a solid student and a tremendous young man which we're excited to add to our program," said Grace baseball coach Josh Bailey. "I look for Steven to make an immediate impact on our program beginning this fall."

The Grace College baseball team landed another recruit for the 2010-11 season in Greenfield Central's Connor Petry.

"Connor's versatility will add depth to our team immediately," said Grace baseball coach Josh Bailey. "We are very happy he has chosen to continue his athletic career at Grace College."

Connor is an outfielder and middle infielder for Greenfield Central High School. His intended major at Grace is Finance.

"I chose Grace for the small school atmosphere and the Christian environment," Connor said. "I am excited to help build up the program."

Connor is the son of Warren and Patti Petry. His brother, Josh, is a catcher for the Lancers.

Turner Hays - Baseball

Grace College's baseball team has added another piece to its puzzle in Northfield pitcher Turner Hays.

Turner has played three years of baseball at Northfield High School and was named a Scholar-Athlete. He was also a member of the state champion team in travel ball in 2006.

"I felt like it was a good fit when I walked on campus," Turner said. "I want to work hard to make myself a better person and ball player."

He plans on majoring in Criminal Justice while at Grace to ultimately become a police officer.

"We are excited about Turner joining our program and our pitching staff," said Grace baseball coach Josh Bailey. "He has a lot of potential. We look forward to his continued improvement as a player as well as his growth in the classroom."

Janelle Hess - Women's Tennis

Grace's women's tennis program landed its first recruit of the year in Ashland, Ohio, native Janelle Hess.

Janelle has played #1 singles for Ashland High School the last three years and was a District qualifier her junior and senior seasons.

"I chose Grace because I wanted a smaller Christian environment for my college education," Janelle said. "Grace has what I'm looking for along with a campus that is warm and welcoming."

Janelle, who intends to major in Graphic Design, is the daughter of Stan and Nancy Hess.

"My athletic goals are to contribute to the tennis program with solid and consistent play," Janelle continued. "I will work hard to accomplish my goals. I love the game of tennis."

Brittney Thacker - Softball

Grace's women's softball program signed another component for next year's team in Ridgedale High School's Brittney Thacker.

Brittney played center and left field for Ridgedale and has received a number of accolades during her time in Morral, Ohio. She was a varsity starter during her freshman year and was named All-District First Team along with MOAC Honorable Mention.

She was named All-District Second Team during her sophomore year, and during her junior year, she was named All-District First Team and All-State Second Team. She was also named All-Conference First Team and was a nominee for the Fahey Bank Athlete of the Month as a junior at Ridgedale.

She was also a guard on Ridgedale's basketball team and led the team in 3-pointers.

"I felt Grace was a great fit for me because I wanted to attend a Christian college," Brittney said. "I was impressed by Grace's staff, students and coaches."

At Grace, Brittney plans to major in Criminal Justice. She is the daughter of Preston and Emily Thacker.

Emily Hickerson - Women's Soccer

Grace College's women's soccer team added another piece to its puzzle in local Warsaw Tiger standout Emily Hickerson.

Emily is a senior at Warsaw Community High School and a two-time Offensive Player of the Year for the Tigers. She is a three-time All-Conference Honorable Mention and was a part of a sectional runner-up team.

"I love the coach and the team and everything about Grace," Emily said. "I want to be a part of this team and help out any way that I can while improving my own skills."

Emily is also a sprinter on the swim team and track team. As a member of the track team, she was named All-Conference twice and was a three-time 4x400 state qualifier.

"We are excited to have Emily join the squad," Voss said. "Her passion, determination and nose for the goal will help our program continue to be successful with possession attacking futbol. Her personality and character will mesh well with the team."

Emily is the daughter of Bryan and Jo Hickerson.

Olivia Winget - Softball

Grace College's softball team officially signed its second recruit in 2009 in Wabash's own Olivia Winget.

Olivia, a senior pitcher at Southwood High School, has been named First Team All-Conference and All-County in both her sophomore and junior years. She has broken ten school records, including most strikeouts in a single season and in a career, as well as most shutouts in a season.

"Coach Johnson and her staff made me feel really comfortable and welcome on campus. I hope that I'll be able to make an impact on the team and grow as a softball player."

During her junior season, Olivia stuck out 164 batters in 152.2 innings with a 1.28 ERA. Olivia also showed she can swing the bat when she batted .419 with seven doubles and five home runs last year.

Off the field, Olivia was involved in P.E.P., a mentoring program for junior high students, as well as being on the honor roll. She is undecided on her intended major at Grace.

"Grace College is getting an outstanding individual in Olivia Wenget," said Southwood softball coach Duane Nordman. "I believe Olivia will be an excellent addition to the softball program both on and off the field."

Adrian Makolli - Men's Basketball

The Grace College men's basketball team landed its second player in its 2009-10 signing class in 6'11" Adrian Makolli.

Adrian, a senior at Lakeland Christian Academy, plans on graduating in the spring of 2010. He is originally from Germany and came to the United States in 2008.

"I want to be a good basketball player and to become a good rebounder and defender," Adrian said. "I really enjoyed the environment of Grace College, including the academics as well as the basketball team and Coach Kessler."

Adrian came to America through a program called Education First. He ended up in South Bend, Ind., and attended Riley High School for a year before switching to Lakeland for his final year.

"In the time that I've worked with Adrian, I have been very pleased with his work ethic," said Lakeland basketball coach Shannon Brown. "Adrian works hard to be the best player he can be. He has a willingness and openness to learn."

While at Grace, he intends to major in either business or sport management. He currently resides with Scott and Cindy Silveus in Winona Lake, Ind. with their three children.

"He’s mobile, and he’s got a competitive spirit about him that we have the opportunity to cultivate and develop," said Grace head coach Jim Kessler. "His height is definitely going to be a factor in games, and he has a huge desire to learn."

Carmen Barnhill - Women's Soccer

Grace College's women's soccer team landed another recruit for the 2009-10 signing class in goalkeeper Carmen Barnhill.

Carmen is a senior at Mansfield Christian School in Mansfield, Ohio. She was a four-year varsity letterman and a two-year captain. During her senior season, Carmen allowed only five goals all year and recorded 15 shutouts. She has been named First Team All-District, First Team All-Conference, and Second Team All-State.

"Carmen was the backbone of our great defense," said Mansfield soccer head coach Steve Storkel. "She has been a great leader on and off the field and was always one of the hardest workers on the team."

Carmen was involved in student government at Mansfield and was inducted into the National Honor Society. She intends to major in graphic design.

"I want to be a servant to this team and help in any way God will allow," Carmen said. "I really saw the passion in the lives of the students and faculty here, and I love their thirst for God."

Carmen is the daughter of Dan and Connie Barnhill.

Keeley Booher - Women's Soccer

The Grace College women's soccer team has added another piece to its puzzle in Covington, Ohio, native Keeley Booher.

Keeley, who will graduate from Newton Local High School in the spring of 2010, is a four-year varsity letterman who broke her school's career and single-season record for assists. She was a three-time First Team All-Conference and also was named to the All-Miami Valley 1st Team.

Keeley also played basketball and softball and ran track during her high school career. She has a 3.9 GPA and was inducted into the National Honor Society as a junior. Other ways Keeley was involved in high school include: the Spanish Club, student government, the Art Club, the school play, as well as numerous community service organizations.

"I knew the first time that I went to Grace that it was somewhere that I could see myself going," Keeley said. "The girls on the team were so great, and Coach Voss was very encouraging. I really feel like it is going to be a place where I can grow educationally, athletically, and most importantly spiritually."

While at Grace, Keeley plans on majoring in either psychology or early childhood development.

Keeley is the daughter of Kent and Amy Booher.

Nicki Meidinger - Softball

The Grace College softball team landed one of West Indianapolis's finest in second baseman Nicki Meidinger. Nicki is from Brownsburg, Ind., and is an All-Conference standout for the Brownsburg Lady Bulldogs.

Nicki, who will graduate from Brownsburg in 2010, was named to the Hendricks County Flyer Top 10 all-county team after her junior season. She led Brownsburg in hits (24), drove in eight runs and also batted a solid .324 for the year. She was also named to the All-Metro West squad.

"Although it's not about winning every game, I hope to help out this program," Nicki said. "The Christian values, the campus and the coaches were just right for me."

Hannah Alcorn - Women's Soccer

The Grace College women's soccer team welcomes its newest member for the 2009-10 signing class in defender Hannah Alcorn. She comes from Argos, Ind., and has been a four-year letter winner for Argos High School.

Alcorn, an Academic All-State honorable mention winner, was the captain for Argos her senior year. She was a 1st Team All-Conference selection for three years and also is a three-time winner of the Mental Attitude Award. She is undecided about her major but will look into Nursing at Grace.

"Grace is small and close to Argos, and I love the atmosphere," Hannah said. “I’m excited about the opportunity to play and contribute to the soccer team.”

Hannah is the daughter of Jon and Jacki Alcorn. Her sister, Kayla, is a current member of Grace's soccer team, and her brother, Kyle, is an assistant coach for Grace's men's soccer team.

Cassie Gareiss - Women's Soccer

Cassie Gareiss has signed to continue her soccer career with the Grace College Lancers. Gareiss is from Columbia City, Ind., where she is a senior at Columbia City High School. The forward is a four-year starter who was named to the 1st Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All-State as a junior.

Cassie, an outstanding student, is a member of the National Honor Society and also is a Fellowship of Christian Athletes leader. She has even won the Silver Key Award for graphic design, which she intends to major in while at Grace.

"I feel God called me to Grace and I’m excited I get to play the sport I love with a team whose main focus is living for the Lord." Gareiss said. “I want to improve as a player and help the team reach their goals.”

Hilary Barnett - Volleyball

The Grace College women's volleyball team signed its second recruit of 2010 in Pewaukee, Wisc., standout Hilary Barnett.

Hilary is in her senior year at Heritage Christian School in Milwaukee, Wisc. She is a four-year starter in volleyball and in basketball. The outside hitter was a two-time captain in both sports, and led her team to a conference championship in both sports last year. She was a unanimous choice for First Team All-Conference two seasons in a row in the Midwest Classic North-Conference after leading the conference in hitting and digs.

"I want to attend Grace to share in the Christian community," Barnett said. "I have only heard good things about Grace, and I really want to be a part of the team that restores Grace's excellent winning tradition, and I believe we will."

Hilary is ranked sixth in her class and is a three-year member of the National Honor Society. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinal and the Milwaukee Brewers named her a Student Achiever in her first three years of high school. She was also named to the Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association All-Academic Team.

While at Grace, Hilary plans on pursuing a career in the medical field while maintaining a high GPA in her classes.

"Hilary is the total package with strong athletic abilities and an exceptional work ethic on and off the court," said Hilary's high school coach Mark MacKay. "She truly is a servant-leader, and she has been a delight to work with."

She is the daughter of Rod and Marjie Barnett.

Greg Miller - Men's Basketball

The Grace College men's basketball team has landed one of Northern Indiana’s finest players in North Miami High School standout Greg Miller.

Greg is entering his senior year at North Miami. As a junior, he was one of IBCA's Top 100 juniors for the state of Indiana. He is a two-time All-Three Rivers Conference player and is also a two-time Miami County Player of the Year. He has already scored 1,000 points in his career. As a junior, Greg was rated in the top ten for the state of Indiana in several statistical categories during the 2008-09 basketball season.

“Greg is a perfect fit for Grace College,” said Jim Kessler, head basketball coach at Grace College. “He can play both inside and outside and will be a matchup problem for our opponents in the MCC. He has a great work ethic and a desire to help us to continue to be successful both on and off the court.”

Greg is ranked in the top ten of his class and is a member of the National Honor Society at North Miami. While at Grace, he plans on majoring in business.

"I chose Grace because of the coaching staff and the great relationship I have with the players," Greg said. "I am very excited to gain a Christian education and to continue to help Grace be successful."

“Greg is a versatile player with good outside skills along with an excellent inside game,” said Dave Henson, head basketball coach at North Miami High School. “He never worries about individual stats. He is a great team player and very unselfish. We wish him all the best at Grace College.”

Jackie Seal- Women's Soccer

The Grace College women's soccer team has signed its first recruit for the 2010 season in Jackie Seal of Grand Blanc, Mich. She is a four-year varsity soccer player at Faith Baptist High School.

Jackie was a two-year captain on her school team, and she's also played club soccer for the Genesee Stars and Flint Steelers. During her junior year campaign, she scored 28 goals. She has also been on the debate team and served as class president her junior year. While at Grace she plans on majoring in political science. Currently she is interning with the Michigan Republican Party.

"After visiting and meeting Coach and the girls and lots of praying and seeing God work in different areas, I feel that this is where God wants me," Jackie said. "I hope to become a better player and do whatever I can to help with the team's goal to get to Nationals."

While at Grace Jackie intends on majoring in Political Science. She is the daughter of Tony and Joanne Seal.

Dana Johnston-Volleyball

The Grace College women's volleyball team is excited with their most recent commitment for the class of 2010 by Dana Johnston of Rochester, Mich. Johnston is standout player for Oakland Christian High School where she holds school records for career and single season blocks.

"Dana has played at a very high level the past several years and will bring a level of competitiveness to our team that will raise the level of play," said Grace head volleyball coach Andria Harshman. "She is an outstanding student in the classroom and will be a dynamic person to have on campus. Her love for the Lord is evident to all that come in contact with Dana and Grace is getting a great addition to our family with her."

As a senior, Dana was named to the First Team All-State after leading her team to the semifinals. She was named All-Tournament four times this year and was voted Team MVP.

Dana is also a three-sport athlete at OCHS and was named Second Team All-State in soccer and First Team All-District in basketball. She is also a member of National Honor Society, honor roll, and received the National Presidential Academic Award. While at Grace, Dana intends on majoring in Business Management and Computer Information Systems.

"I am excited about the opportunity for a great education and the chance to play for a great coaching staff," Dana said. "I hope to graduate with honors and help our team develop into a nationally known program."

Dana is the daughter of Kevan and Carolyn Johnston.
