Grace College’s golf team has picked up its first commitment for the 2012-13 season in Northwestern High School’s Kyle Condon.
Condon has been an integral member of Northwestern’s team over his high school career. In 2012 he was the medalist at both the Howard-Tipton County Tournament and the Northwestern Invitational.
The Kokomo, Ind., native helped lead Northwestern to a sectional and county title as a senior after helping Northwestern to county and conference championships as a junior.
“I really liked the closeness of the community on campus, and it was a great school for my major,” Condon said. “When I visited, it felt like my home away from home. I’m excited to help the team win conference and qualify for nationals.”
Condon, who served as team co-captain in 2012, earned Student Athlete of the Week honors from WIOU 1350 AM. For his junior season, Condon averaged an 82.9.
“Kyle Condon is a coach’s dream. He exhibits desire, dedication and determination,” said Northwestern head coach Randy Lindgren. “His integrity is beyond compare. It was an honor to teach and coach Kyle, and I’m sure he will be a leader in society for the years to come.”
Condon is the son of Brian and Kathy Condon. He plans to study Biblical studies during his time at Grace.
